The Ritchey compression plug installs in two parts - first you tighten the compression plug into the fork. Then you separately attach the cap and tighten it to pull up the fork to tension. If you ever need to remove the stem/handlebar (e.g., to add or remove spacers), you can leave the plug in the fork and just remove the cap. It is solid and I felt no concern with rounding out the bolt as I have with plugs like the FSA. I also like having the small rubber/silicone plug cover to hide the bolt head. Best engineered compression plug for carbon forks I've used. I have used with a 1 1/8" tapered carbon fork from Lynskey. Everything fit perfectly.

Also chick ist es ja. Aber es zieht den Lenker kaum runter um das Spiel zu vermeiden. Habe jetzt eine Grampe eingesetzt und verwende den Rest weiter.

Funktioniert und passt sehr gut. Sieht auch optisch gut aus. Ist nicht der leichteste , würde ich aber wieder kaufen.Ist speziell für Carbon-Gabelrohre geeignet, da er von innen gegen den Klemmung des Vorbaus abstützt.Steuersatzspiel ist hiermit gut einzustellen.

Throw out your cheap compression plugs and invest in a solid one like this one here. It is a true Ritchey product, holds super tight and torques right up. It is one of only a few that I trust.

A little confusing at first. Take the top cap off and there is another bolt to get it tight in your carbon fork. Has held well for the 200 miles.

Because of the design, I had to put in an extra 2mm spacer. No big deal. Fits perfectly and does the job. Can't beat Ritchey; good quality at a fair price.

I did not receive the item as pictured. The item I received is very similar but the gripping middle section is not vertically smooth it is textured in all directions. This enables it to grip better.

Bought to replace another brand that I accidentally cross-threaded during reassembly after stem height adjustment. Seems very high quality & has perfect fit. Loosened up a bit / got some slop in the fork after about 30 street miles, think it was installation error on my part - went back and reinstalled, remembering to leave the stem totally loose until the headset is fully tight. Been fine ever since. Anyway - recommended, would buy again...

Nicely made, typical of Ritchey products. You will need to cut your steerer tube so there are no spacers above it! If you don't, this Ritchey plug is not long enough to reach the full length of your stem. That's pretty important for a carbon steerer tube. In my case, I wanted to have 10mm spacers above and below my stem for flexibility in handlebar height. This plug does not work for me. No fault of the part, just be sure to install it so the plug sits directly behind your stem.

Works flawlessly, I have it installed with a Ritchey Carbon Cross fork. If you haven't installed one of these before make sure you watch a video online, it's very easy, but there is an internal 6mm bolt you need to adjust to make sure its a perfect fit for your steerer tube.
