The platform is very heavy duty and robust. I was able to mount mine by myself, but I would highly recommend having someone help you. It is not easy at all and you'll find it to be very heavy and awkward from off of a ladder with no amount of curse words improving your situation.. You'll notice I mounted mine to two stainless steel Uni-Strut legs, which I first measured out and mounted to the wall. This is so I could more easily adjust the rack to a more preferred height, especially if you expect to occasionally swap out the swivel linkage or bag sizes. Also, if you choose to mount this directly to the wall, I think you will be very disappointed, as getting the perfect height is D*mn near impossible. Having Uni-Strut legs turns this into a much more user friendly design. Utilizing Uni-Strut makes it as simple as slightly loosening the bolts with a ratchet, then lightly bumping it up/down with your hand, then retightening. Also, there is a small gap located between the steel arms and drum on the top side where you will experience vibration. At this location I decided to insert (more like jam) 2 large silicone washers in under the arms of the steel rack between the wood drum (not pictured). This low cost fix will significantly lessen drum movement and vibration while you workout.

Bought this for myself and my son. We are basically done growing so really don't have to worry about adjusting the height. The platform is thicker than normal but still vibrates; consequently, that is why you see the yellow sandbags on top in pic. The metal brace is solid and believes me it has to be because this thing is NOT light. The hard part for me (and the reason why I'm writing this review) was the installation. If you buy this item MAKE sure to make a template of the screw location for the mounting bracket out of cardboard. Believe me: You (and your shoulders) will thank me because, again because of the wight, it's not easy holding this thing up.But now that it's up I couldn't be happier. This thing is a beast and will stand the test of time!

Beware -- don't place any weight on the platform, which is a common practice in gyms to give the bag a better bounce. I did, and it cost me. Yet this platform has a nice feel. . After 9 months the Melanine Board -- the black material surrounding the circle of particle board -- developed a crack on the bottom about 18 inches long. I hit the bag at home, only 10 to 30 rounds a week. If it were in a gym it could easily go 50 to 100 rounds a night and last what? A month? A platform should last at least 10 years, and it would if it were made of good lumber instead of particleboard. Update -- lots and lots of cracks I've covered with duct tape. It's junk.

Way better than the platforms that are adjustable, the board it THICK. Nice rebound and sturdy as heck. It is heavy though, so get some help with install.

Very satisfied. The metal frame is extremely ridgid and allows for great rebound. It is mounted in the garage so I don't know how long the partical board platform will last but no signs of warping yet.
