Nice mat. However, wish the magnets were a lot stronger. Was hoping it would be strong enough to hold my screws while i pick up the mat and move.

I got this planning to use for my service truck toolbox shelf, as its length and width are a good fir. Not that I do a lot of gun cleaning and disassembly there, but for holding screws, drill bits, and other small items while working. It has two hanging holes on the left edge for storage, but the silicone material is easy enough to put a screw or rivet through to secure to a workbench or other surface. The silicone is pretty grippy though, and I've been using it as a desk mat on a boat, and it hasn't slid around even in heavy seas. Also, the magnetic pads help keep small tools and parts from rolling off and getting lost. The mat arrived tightly rolled up and took a little while to relax and flatten at low Alaskan temperatures. Not an issue after the first day. There's a lot to like about this mat, and it seems like it will last a long time and is easy to clean up. At 3' long, the mat allows more room to disassemble items than smaller soldering mats I've used before.

I love this handy gun cleaning mat from CCSL.Yes, it's listed as a gun cleaning mat, which it is great for, but a mat like this is super handy for all sorts for hobbies and project work.This particular mat is 36 inches long and 12 inches wide. It's a good size, specifically for rifles and shotgun lengths.I have a table setup so it covers a good portion without taking up too much room.It's very durable feeling, but a soft rubber. It's thick enough to really protect both the surface its on and the items on top of it. But it's still very flexible and easy with maneuver, hang, roll back up, and overall deal with.Nice looking (mine is grey and green) too.There are 5 "trays" or pockets, sections that high a higher rim of rubber to keep things like screws in place. But it also touts 2 magnetic areas with 4 and 6 individual magnet spaces. The magnets are strong and will hold nuts and screws nicely.The only other 2 things on the design are that it has cut outs to hang it by and a row of holes at the top. I'm really not sure what those are for... But all in all, this is a completely functional and super useful mat for work.It's obviously waterproof and has good resistance to other liquids. My gun cleaner wiped right off, so cleanup is easy.I also use this for working on remote control cars. They fit great. Tons of little screws and other small parts that this mat helps me keep track of. Plus I can pick it up and shake it out to get all the dirt and debris left in the mat.

I like how long this cleaning mat is. There's obviously plenty of space for smaller jobs, but it really shines when cleaning long guns. With other pads I'd have to put something aside, but with this I can keep everything on the cleaning pad. It's feels thick and durable but still folds up nicely for storage or hang it up to keep it flat. I like the different trays and magnets as well to help keep everything organized.

Love this mat! It rolls up compact, lays flat when un-rolled, and the rubber (seems like rubber, but who knows these days) is good quality.If you like to really break down your pews to scratch out ALL the carbon, the little magnetic spots are fantastic for those tiny cotter pins and such that always roll off the table.Looks great, serves it intended function beautifully, and is a good value. Can't ask for much more than that.

There just isn't anything but good things to say about this cleaning mat. It is far more substantial than every other mat I've used and yet is still easily rolled up for storage if needed. The magnetic areas are really an excellent idea and work very well. It's great for holding small screws, springs and other pieces without them rolling off or otherwise getting lost. Along the top there's a good place to put different jags and a separate area for cleaning rods and patches which keeps them separated from a weapon and organized. Finally, the non-slip back is very effective. Overall, this is the best cleaning mat I have found in decades, and well worth the price.

I was pretty excited to get a mat with a magnetic surface, but then I discovered that there are only a few small magnetic areas - those areas in green. Other than that, this seems to be a decent gun cleaning mat with a soft surface that won't mar even the finest metal surfaces, ridges to help keep small pieces from rolling away, and a material that wasn't damaged by cleaning solvent. I'd really like to see a mat that is wholly magnetic. The price is average, and the function and features are average, so let's go average on the rating.
