My medium size cat is able to pull the leash out easily when not locked, which is precisely what I hoped for. The release and lock controls are easy to use one-handed. The wind-up mechanism functions well. All-in-all a great product.

We use this at the waters edge of the beach so our dog can enjoy the small waves. It can also be used for walks around town as it can be locked easily at a safe length. Easy to hold, easy to hook on and off the harness.

Surprisingly heavy and doesn't pull out as freely as leashes I've had in the past. Seems to have a lot of drag on the mechanism.
