This worked great to adjust the heat lamp on the chicken brooder so that the chicks did not get too hot or cold. It also made me more comfortable that it was not too close to possibly spark a fire.

It is a nice stand. It hold a lamp well. It is a heavy base, nice poles, and a microphone type arm on top to position the lamp in place. It works great I like it.

The way my tort's enclose works, i needed to get his heat/UVB pretty close to him and I haven't had great success with other set ups.I've been using this stand for a little over a month now and it's perfect. I can adjust it down to the millimeter, and the range is impressive. I included pics trying to show the range it's capable of.Also, i wanted to make sure it would stay put, as in not loosen over time and droop down. I can't judge long term usage, but I feel like over a month is pretty good. The hinges are just as tight as ever and no dropping or moving.The base that tucks under his pool is also nice and wide and feels secure. Some of the other kinds I've tried in the past didn't have enough base going under his pool to make it feel sturdy.I'm actually planning to buy a couple more to use for my indoor plants, to hang lights above them in some of my dark corners.
