Bought this string and cable set for my R9 and so far it performs great. Time will tell on how long it holds up. Would recommend.

Just had these put on and just went to cock it. String would not click in cocking device, string was too thick. Has anyone else ran into this?UPDATE: when the string broke, bow was cocked, so when they restrung it they did not uncock it. Once we put arrow in and fired, it all works fine now.It is stiffer and hard to cock then old string but that tells me the first string was getting bad.

I ordered these strings back in the summer, however, I didn't get around to replacing them until after the return policy had expired. I sincerely regret purchasing this string set online and not checking things out when I received them. Once I finally got around to putting them on, I took my Ravin R9 to Cabelas to use their bow vise, and we noticed the new strings were raveled and in a more unsafe condition that my old worn set. We actually replaced the smaller strings with the new set, and I left my old large string on, as it had less wear than the "new" set. Ravin already has customer concern with strings breaking sooner than advertised, and with the high tension of this bow, it makes me extremely nervous. This coming spring I'll be left with purchasing another new set, replacing them again, mainly because the large string is still the original. The old string has around 150 shots on it, which seems to be about the safe number before replacing them (real life experience, not advertised life span). I love the bow, but this string issue combined with string quality is making me nervous to recommend or look into getting another. I was considering to go with another R9 for my wife, but I'm still in the deciding phase with my first purchase. Time will tell with season two approaching...
