A spindle has 3 wires labeled U,V, and W. The drawing on the page showed the numbers running (1) at the top, (2) on the left, and (3) on the right. The plug however had the numbers with (2) and (3) reversed. I connected it as shown, and during testing it went in reverse. If this happens to you, swap the wires for (2) and (3) and it will be fine. Other than that... I am VERY pleased with this spindle. The unit originally had a water-cooled system... and internally that motor leaked and rusted the spindle solid. For that reason, I wanted to try an air-cooled spindle. I had concerns about noise after hearing a router... but the construction here is MUCH different internally. It is almost as quiet as the water-cooled unit... and by this I mean, at full 25,000 RPM... you can be standing next to it have have a normal conversation. I had heat concerns... I let it run a full 30 minutes... it was still cool to the touch... perhaps a couple degrees warmer... but not by much. I don't have to worry about a fluid leak, algae, a pump going bad, or where to place a water tank. Just connect it and run the VFD... nice and simple. I like simple.Want to see my progress? I bought this as a backup almost a year ago. Today, the collet on my original spindle got stuck and became impossible to remove after running into a clamp. I thought, no big deal I'll just throw on the backup. I put it on, wouldn't run. I got an over-voltage error. Checked parameters on vfd, reset vfd and redid parameters, no change. Set up my backup vfd (a nice durapulse vfd) and this time the spindle would run, but only very slow and in reverse and smoked after SECONDS. Very hot to the touch. Checked and rechecked wiring, I wired it correctly. Checked for continuity between pins and BOOM, continuity between pin 2 and 3 on the spindle. Not on my wiring. I pulled the top of the spindle expecting some crappy wiring at the plug which would be an easy fix. Nope, it's further inside the spindle and it doesn't appear to be serviceable. I wasted HOURS messing with this only to find they sent me a $200 paperweight to begin with. I'm way past the return window because this was a backup and never meant to be in service unless it was an emergency... Well, that emergency just became much worse. I will be pursuing a refund still but I wanted to warn others to stay away from anything from RATTMMOTOR
