It's quite well made and lovely to look at. Easy to tune. My friends who play guitar, ie. guitarists, have picked it up and strummed it--and were very impressed by the sound. Great purchase!

Ranch is a very nice company to deal with and has the potential of producing some very nice ukuleles, but unfortunately, this one was a big failure!First of all, to make this perfectly clear, I'm not down on Ranch at all as a company. I have very high regard for their customer service!I do recommend buying from them. Now, onto the review of this particular ukulele, and another previously purchased. As I removed the protective bag, I was very disappointed to see that the face, or soundboard of the ukulele looked like it had literally been attacked by a woodpecker! It had deep little holes all over the place. You could tell the gloss finish was applied after the holes were already there.Other than that, the finish on the front and sides of the body was very nice and smooth like a hand rubbed finish!I really do not understand why they would go through the trouble of finishing the front so nicely with all those holes in it!If that wasn't bad enough, I turned it over to look at that back and the finish was absolutely horrible!!!They simply applied the gloss finish over the unfilled wood leaving it look very rough and resembling the skin of a raisin! What the heck is going on at the factory that makes these?Previously, I had directly purchased one of their walnut cutaway tenor models. It was a very nice ukulele, perfect in every sense, except for the fact that the bridge popped off while I was very carefully and incrementally settling the strings! No forced stretching like some idiots do!Yes, I know what I'm doing. Not my first rodeo.I did not over tighten the strings.I've done it a hundred times before!Anyway, I contacted them, expecting a bunch of excuses to be made, like many companies do these days, but the girl I talked to was very nice and apologetic, asked for pictures, and after reviewing them, totally refunded my money without requiring a return!I really must say, they have very outstanding customer service!Recently, I got up the ambition to repair it myself. The bridge had been glued onto The instrument after the satin finish was applied. That's why it let go.This should never be done! All the surfaces on an instrument such as a ukulele or guitar should be mated bare wood to bare wood. After marking its original location and cleaning up all the remaining glue and satin finish, I was able to reglue the bridge, clamp it in place for a few days and now it's a solid as a rock. You can't tell it was ever repaired!I have had a lot of experience as a woodworker and I guarantee It will never separate again!Good for me, free ukulele! Now it turns out that it's actually one of my favorite, best sounding ukuleles, and I've had a lot of them.I also sell and have worked on a great many ukuleles, so that's quite impressive.Maybe these were just a random bad experiences. As of late I've seen a lot of ukuleles with many problems from different Chinese manufacturers. Just about all ukuleles come from China or Asia now. It doesn't really matter what the brand is.This lousy quality control has probably got something to do with COVID disrupting the entire planet.I didn't really run into anything like this pre-COVID.Since I definitely had a very good experience with customer service,I would really have to recommend Ranch as a place to buy a ukulele from. After all, if there's a problem you can always return it or possibly work something else out. With the first ukulele which was bought direct, they even offered to send me a different ukulele at a higher price point to resolve my situation, but I chose to simply take the refund keep the ukulele.Bear in mind, this was dealing with them directly from the start. With Amazon you would simply have to return it within the required time.Just make sure before you purchase a ukulele that it says free returns on the listing. This is unrelated to this purchase but,I would not buy from VirVentures,I think that's how you spell it.Ventures is definitely in the name I just don't recall how they spelled Vir anymore. They mostly sell Ortega acoustic instruments. If you try to return something with them, you'll have to jump through a hundred hoops and still not get anywhere fast! They seem to have perfected the runaround!I purchased a defective ukulele from them and ended up having to repair it myself It was quite expensive at about $300. I estimate that my personal cost of repairing it probably added up somewhere between $50 to $100 worth of my time. I'm very disgusted with VirVentures!

I don’t know much about ukuleles, I play guitar. I ordered three of these for my grand children. I haven’t given them to them yet, but I have tried playing them and they seem to be nice ukuleles.

Not just for beginners. Excellent tone, high quality craftsmanship, quite attractive woods and well-fitted hardware. My daughter decided she wanted to learn uke after her nanny/friend played, and I looked for not just a beginner's but one that would be a keeper for as long as she played. This is it.

This is a very good instrument and plays well. The price is very good and the gig bag is quite good. The company is excellent and I can recommend this product and hope more people buy these ukuleles and learn to play.

Very nice piece! EXCELLENT sound! Sounds MUCH better than a cheaper one we have. Highly recommended! Doesn't come with a strap, so if you want one, order separately. Amazing sounding instrument! Solid!

This Ranch Guitar Ukulele, unlike others I ordered and returned, is NOT A TOY! It is a beautiful musicalinstrument, well-crafted, with a great case. I ordered this as a Christmas present for my 11 year-oldgranddaughter, who also plays piano, but I think it won't be long before I order another for myself. And RanchGuitar is a pleasure to do business with. I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this ukulele!!
