First off, the grip length dimension for all rivets from this company is incorrect. They spec the barrel length to be the grip length and this is simply wrong. At most these rivets will grip 3/8" and that is on a good day. Secondly, the the barrel is actually closer to 7/16" than it is to 1/2". There are better options.

Great price and well built, but one flaw is that they are not entirely made of aluminum as it states. The shaft is steel and not aluminum. However am not returning because the shaft is used to create the compression. Where the center could rust, there is little to none left once it snaps off.
