It is a peice of crap, poor quality, and does not fit alpha one gen one. The base seal does not cover the whole plate which will let a lot of water into the main weep hole section of the lower unit. See photos. It is bigger slightly than the one that came out of my 1984 alpha one gen one. It also has poor seal quality, as shown by the bur on the seal edge. I could not see these things untill I took it out of the package, which makes it unreturnable. Very dissapointed. The worst is there are many reveiws on thisnthat say it fits alpha one gen one. Something does not add up and it cost me $50 and a day of vacation waiting for the right parts.

Perfect fit for early mercruiser alpha one gen one outdrive. Of you're doing the impeller on these, go ahead and replace this as well.
