Product Review: QINGENO Gun Safe (QG8002E Keypad)1. First Impression: Quick access to a firearm in a home defense situation is crucial, so I was looking for a small, reliable handgun safe for my nightstand. The QINGENO Gun Safe with the keypad lock seemed like a good option. My initial impression upon unboxing was that it's compact and well-built. It has a simple, unassuming design that wouldn't draw unwanted attention.2. Pros: * Quick Access (Keypad): The keypad lock is the standout feature. It allows for fast and easy access to the handgun inside. The buttons are responsive and easy to press, even in the dark. * Sturdy Construction: The safe feels solid and well-made. It's constructed from steel, which gives me confidence that it would deter unauthorized access. * Compact Size: The compact size is perfect for a nightstand or other discreet location. It doesn't take up much space. * Mounting Options: The safe can be mounted, which is a great feature for added security and preventing it from being easily carried away. * Backup Key Lock: The inclusion of a backup key lock provides an extra layer of security and a way to access the safe if the keypad malfunctions or the batteries die. * Auto Open Lid: The automatic lid opening mechanism is convenient and allows for quick access to the firearm.3. Cons: * No Biometric Reader (Fingerprint): This is a significant con. While the keypad is convenient, the safe lacks any kind of fingerprint reader (biometric lock). A fingerprint reader would add an extra layer of security and even faster access. For a "smart" gun safe, this feels like a missed opportunity. * Limited Capacity: The compact size means that it's only suitable for storing one, maybe two very small handguns. Larger handguns or multiple firearms will not fit. * No Interior Light: An interior light would be a helpful feature, especially for accessing the firearm in complete darkness.4. Overall Thoughts: The QINGENO Gun Safe is a decent option for quick-access handgun storage. The keypad lock, sturdy construction, and compact size are all positive features. However, the absence of a fingerprint reader is a significant drawback, and the limited capacity and lack of an interior light are also worth considering.5. Suggestions for Improvement: * Add a Fingerprint Reader: A biometric fingerprint reader would significantly improve the security and convenience of this safe. * Offer Larger Sizes: Consider offering larger versions of the safe to accommodate multiple handguns or larger firearms. * Include an Interior Light: Adding an interior light would make it easier to access the firearm in low-light conditions.6. Recommendation: I would recommend this safe to individuals who need quick access to a single small handgun and who are okay with the lack of a fingerprint reader. It's a good basic safe for bedside or other discreet storage. However, if you require the added security and speed of a biometric lock, or if you need to store multiple firearms, you should look for a different safe that meets those specific needs. Be aware that this safe relies solely on a keypad and key lock for access; there is no fingerprint reader.

This safe is a really great solution for people who want to have their piece next to them at night for easy access, while also keeping it secured and locked up safe from any kiddos or other people. It was extremely easy to install. We only had to screw-in 4 screws total in order to mount it to the nightstand. It’s big enough without being too bulky. It opens very fast, either with the included circular keys, or the passcode. The door drops down quickly, but quietly as well. The piece fits perfectly in the carved out sections of the foam that’s on the inside of the safe. It’s a great value for the price. I’ve thought about buying a couple of these to give as gifts, because it’s just that good! 10/10 recommend!

This is a very nice gun safe. The keypad works well and it unlocks quickly. It has a nice fit on the inside and if you need to, you could probably cut the foam and do some customizations. I think this has many places it could be mounted, as long as it a sturdy wall, or item (bed or something with solid wood) because it is heavy, which speaks to it's quality which is very good. We haven't had it going long enough to know how long the charge lasts, but hopefully that is just as great as the rest of it. I highly recommend this an option for your gun safe needs.

This gun safe is exactly what I was looking for. The quick-access keypad works smoothly, and the auto-open lid makes it easy to retrieve my firearm when needed. It’s solidly built and fits perfectly in my nightstand. The added key lock is a nice backup feature. A great investment for firearm safety at home!

This would be a great bedside safe, but I have it mounted to a wall just inside the laundry room door. That way we have a pistol in the opposite end of the house from the main safe, and my wife has ready access when she's home alone. There are multiple ways to mount this safe and changing the mount location is as simple as moving the bracket to the opposite side. The safe mounts with screws or sheetrock anchors just like you would mount any heavy object. If you're mounting to a sheetrock wall, I strongly recommend getting at least one screw into a stud. Not only is this safe heavy, but you want to make it difficult to pry off the wall.It unlocks quickly with the keypad and the door drops open with authority. I haven't had it long enough to determine how long a charge lasts, but after a week the charge indicator still shows 100%, and I've been opening it a lot just to learn and test. I imagine under real-world conditions it will last months, depending on how often it is opened. I will open it at least once a month to verify the charge and to give the pistol a lite wipe-down. I love the humidity indicator especially since this is in the laundry room. Higher humidity means you should lube the firearm more often to combat rust, so knowing the humidity is a great feature. It fits a wide range of pistols, but some larger pistols may require cutting some of the interior foam for good fit. My full size Sig P226 barely fits with the rail mounted light/laser and 21 rd. mag, but even after trimming some of the foam the top sights were right up against the back of the safe. It would not fit if I had an optic, though I might be able to trim more of the foam to compensate. My smaller Sig P230 compact fits fine with an optic and extended mag. So this safe should be able to accommodate just about any pistol except perhaps a Desert Eagle or a tricked out race gun.
