The thing I liked most about this is the full design is very familiar after working with name brand emergency lights. Everything from the snap mechanism to remove the fixture from the mounting plate, the line connector to the PCB that disconnects when you remove it from the wall for service, even the dimensions - are very similar. Thus, it's a great replacement if you've got one of the older name brand lights already installed. The instructions and hardware kit included are on par with what I expected. Orange wire nuts for the small gauge wire to connect to 14 gauge line power. Screws and anchors if you want to attach it to a wall. The back panel has knockouts for screws on various types of box - octagon, 4-square, 4-11/16, and I don't know what others. Fit perfect on the 4-square box on my wall. The lamps swivel and rotate, alowing an aim in almost all directions to either side, making it easy to light up almost any room or stairwell. The battery is a decent quality nickel-based battery. I've only done short tests with it so far, but the lamp brightness holds steady for a minute of battery operation. The instructions state that the unit should be tested for 90-minute operation annually, so hopefully the batteries hold up okay!If I experience a power outage when I'm near this fixture, I'll report back here to how it holds up.

I was looking forward to getting this power failure- emergency light. After being attached to a 120 VAC power source and that power is lost, the 2 LED lights will come on. I didn't test the length of time the small battery will last but suffice it say an hour or more was my experience. The LED lights are not very bright and it would be questiontionable that they would be be bright enough in a smoke filled room (consider one of the light's functions). The light has an integral mounting system but the whole mount, light and battery are not very substantial. I cannot see this being used in a business or industrial application. The bare wires must be wired into the 120 VAC system for charging and automatic activation. An included 120 VAC quick connect AC plug would have brought my review up one one star.

I had a failing emergency light kit that need to be replaced, and it was a good chance to go to an LED_based solution like this. Installation onto the existing j box was a dream! I first had to remove the old fixture and pop off the old plate, pull the wire caps from the AC lines from the old unit. Then, I knocked out the proper holes in the mounting plate, connected the wires with the existing wire nuts, and affixed the plate to the j box. I then connected the battery (almost missed this important step)! Finalle, slid the unit onto the plate, adjusted the directional light cups, and it was done. In and out in about 10 minutes, and the new light is ready to go.

these emergency lights work perfect for what I wanted them to and very functional. I like the design because they can be battery operated and not constantly plugged in. They have two lights on the sides and I got the color white and it’s a fair white almost cream color. But looks very good on the wall. I really like that they bright and shine in good light. The material of the light itself is very good and the plastic surrounding the light where it shines out of it also a very good material and durable. Very functional and works as intended.

These emergency lights are only for power outages. They do not light up while the light has utility power. I put these in the house at the stairwells. They've come in very handy during thunderstorms. Easy to connect, just 2 wires, and remember to plug the battery in before snapping the cover on after installation. They are pretty bright, also. Haven't tested the reputed 90-minute battery life, but it's plenty long enough to find your flashlight.

We regularly have power outages and this is wonderful. I already had one of these and it works perfectly. You have to have power that this will connect to. It uses that power to keep the batteries charged and to sense when power is interrupted to turn on the lights. These lights have lasted over two hours which is good because they did not say how long they last in the ad. This is great for getting around in the night to get things like flashlights and do what ever you need to do during a power outage. It also allows you to save your flashlight batteries in case the power failure lasts longer than these lights. It is not designed to last days, just hours giving you time to get out or organized. Note: You must plug the battery pack into the board or it will not work. That is on the inside of the light. Pretty simple, just take off the back cover. It comes that way so the batteries will not drain down. It has a test button on the bottom. I love this in the house and highly recommend them.
