Product Description

This handle is a gray Internal style latching patio door handle found on Viking as well as a variety of other sliding patio door manufacturers. Being one of the most common internal style latch it can be used on either right or left-handed doors. The handle body is diecast steel with a wood handle attached. The wood finish may vary slightly. Included is a matching outside handle and keeper. The mounting holes are 3-15/16 inch on center. When the latch is installed into the door frame through an inside access hole, the connected lever is held in place by a flat spring as it operates the latch up and down to engage the keeper.

From the Manufacturer

This handle set is constructed from die cast and comes finished in aluminum. It features a reversible design for left or right hand installations. The automatic unlatching option prevents accidental lockout. Fits a 1 in. door rail; used on Viking Doors.

Easy to install and fits well. But the good thing stop there, the screw keeps loosing every once in a while causing a squeaky sound, and finally the interior diecast handle cracked at the screw hole. This hammer drop lock leaves me very few options. I wish my door has a standard mortise latch lock so I can have much more options at time to replace, bought another brand with much betyer build quality but I'm lazy to carve out a hole for the latch lock.

Not great quality, it's hard to lock with key and feels flimsy.

As long as you are replacing the same handle this one is great

Locking mechanism, screws, value for money, durability… all that is there with this guy. The fit and ease of installation I cannot comment on because I measured wrong 😑 It’s well past the return date so I’ll be buying a new one with the CORRECT preexisting hole measurements this time! Thanks!

I don't recommend, after a few weeks the key started to turn 360 degrees and not unlock.

The handle wasn't in its original package. It came scratched up, and the plastic bag it was in was ripped open with pieces falling out. Check the dimensions- though the holes matched up the locking mechanism did not.

Short story: I’ve never installed one before and this took less than 20 minutes to install (including unpackaging) using only a screw driver. The hook style lock works, the handle is sturdy metal, it looks nice. It comes with everything you need including locking parts and multiple sizes of screws.Long story: I bought this to replace an existing handle that was incorrectly installed. My new place has a sliding glass door and the cutout for the locking mechanism is not the right size or shape for a mortise lock however, the previous owner installed a mortise style handle and simply left out the locking mechanism and stuffed the hole with an old rag. That left a gap where the cold air could get in during the winter and since the door couldn’t lock they left a 2x4 as a dowel style floor lock. I researched what types of door handles there were and realized I needed a hook style lock and had seen this brand repeatedly on hardware store websites. I found it ~$5 cheaper on Amazon than any hardware store so I bought it and installed it myself. It took me less than 20 minutes including reading and opening the packaging and I’ve never installed or replaced sliding door handles/locks before. All I used was a screw driver. It also comes with two lengths of screws for installation to fit multiple door widths.

Poorly made and shattered just after a month of use. Pay the extra $10-$15 for a better quality handle

Let me start bu saying I don't usually leave reviews. But I want to warn everyone I've now ordered 2 of these and both of them are cracked at the same spot where the lock switch goes through the metal. There's obviously a flaw in the design. Unfortunately this is the only one that fits my door without ordering separate parts and cutting the side of my door open to fit them. So I will be trying a third time. But, I definitely do not recommend this unless it's the only style that fits your door. Buy at your own risk!

It was too small for the door handle opening, but we got it to work. It's very sturdy and much better than the original and the flimsy replacement we bought at Home Depot. Sorry HD. We put something in the gap to keep the bugs out. It will work until we get one that's the right size and just as sturdy.
