The original pads that come with the 3/4" Pony clamps are softer than these. Also they are slightley tinner and the cut out shape is slightly different. Not liking the color, black vs. orange like the clamp color.

Bought some new pipe clamps and pads for use at my job, because Pony was a rock-solid brand. 25+ years of rugged DIY use and I cannot recall any problems with a Pony.Product details are noted as being soft and rubber, but these are a semi-rigid plastic. But the problem is that these fall off the clamps at will. For those who might be wondering, yes, I used them on the #50 3/4" pipe clamp shown on the package. Also, description says made in US, but packaging says made in China. The new #50s clamps I bought are made in China also. Time will tell if they are as durable as the older US-made clamps. But these pads are an immediate fail. (I'm glad I have a lifetime fill of US-made Pony clamps and pads at home)I have ordered a replacement set, I'll report on those also.EDIT - Raised this to 2 stars. Replacement pads fit somewhat loosely but they didn't fall off in my initial evaluation. Is not yet known if they will fall off in use, when clamps will surely drag and bump when removed from the material they were clamping. I am still not fully pleased, as these are not as grippy as the old orange pads, some of which fit so tightly they are stubborn to remove. Is only 2 stars because there are obviously some QC/process-control issues with this product. The old ones were not consistent either but at least they were dependable to do the job.

These fit over my existing pipe clamps keep the metal clamps from digging into a workpeice. They do fit a little loose, though, so sometimes moving them sideways across an object will pull them off without wanting to.

I purchased this package set after misreading the description. I thought I was getting a set of 4 clamps which would be approx $7.35 per clamp or roughly 1/2 of the regular price. On closer inspection it is one clamp with a package of 4 clamp pads. Bad enough that I misread it but I thought, well the clamp pads should be useful. Wrong again, yes they fit the clamp but have to rely on gravity to hold them on, they are WAY to large to stay on the face plates, so even these are not as useful as I was hoping. Other than that the clamp itself works fine, just misleading advertising.

If you use pipe clamps this product is a must have. Very durable and will serve you for a long time.

There's nothing wrong with these, but I just wanted to warn people that these only fit the Pony 50 & 52 pipe clamps. They're too small for the Pony 55 pipe clamps.It's a bit annoying, because the description does not mention this problem. In fact, the "Frequently Purchased Together" section shows these pads with the Pony 55 clamps!

Some might disagree on whether or not you need a pad for pipe clamps. I'm sure we can all agree that pipe clamps are capable of putting down some serious pressure. Even on hardwoods you are going to get a divot in the edge of your workpiece if you clamp too hard. These rubber pads help greatly in reducing that. A lot of times it doesn't really matter because you make your piece over size and trim it down later anyway. However, I feel a lot better having good edges to my work in case of a drop or damage to part of the piece that needs to be cut off. Might have to pick up another set of these, but already got 2 packs so I should be set for a while.Oh, and just in case. These do fit 3/4" pipe clamps. I have the Pony clamps and they slide on tightly so they should stay put.
