Opened the box. Loaded batteries (2 AAA not included) into base unit. Put button battery (included) into remote. Connected base unit to GH6 with supplied cable. Turned on base unit. Verified that base unit push button worked to click shutter. Then pressed remote button and success. Took all of five minutes to be up and running out of the box. Simple. Effective. Great price. Don't know what more you could ask, especially as the official Panasonic DMW-RS2 remote goes for close to $70 and doesn't even do wireless. Don't hesitate on this if you need a wireless remote to work with your GH6. But just make sure to select the correct part as they have different models for the different camera brands.

Purchased this as my new d780 is not able to use the ML-L3. Excellent. Uses wi-fi to trigger the shutter. No muss, no fuss, just a great remote trigger.Highly recommended.

I'm into street photography in public places. This is perfect for taking candid photos, just hold the remote in your pocket and act like you are just transporting the camera. I use it with a Canon R5 and R100. The cables are different but both cables are supplied.

Does not work with Nikon Z8. Will trip shutter but won't focus.UPDATE: If you are using "back button focus" on Nikon camera, you need to return focus function to the Shutter button (which is default on Nikon cameras.) I almost returned it until I figured this out. Now it works great.

This remote worked for one year, useless now. Just blinkingi guess PHOLSY had timer set for 1 year of work then self-destruct. It will be a challenge to find replacement that works since all of those remotes are made in the same place

EDIT: After cleaning the exterior of the product to remove the acid buildup, I was able to pry the compartment open and get everything cleaned and working again. This really is a solid product. Communication with the seller regarding the issue was great as well. I still deducted one star due to the craziness of having a product corrode so quickly using the included batteries, but I do recommend the product overall. Just use your own batteries.-----------I purchased this item approximately 40 days ago to replace a different brand/model that konked out on me after a few years of use. While larger than ideal, it's actually quite simple to use and works well - even better than my old remote/cable. Easy five stars.Or, at least it did when I tested it.I then put the remote back in its box with the rest of my gear for safekeeping and to be packed on my fall foliage photography trip this past weekend. To my surprise, when I reopened the box to pack it in my bag, the part that attaches to the camera hot shoe wouldn't turn on. The remote was alive and kicking, however.Come to find out, the batteries that were provided with the remote FULLY CORRODED the entirety of the internal battery slot, and sealed the entire thing shut. I'll keep working on it, but as of right now, I have a non-returnable item in non-functioning condition due to the cheap inclusions of the seller/manufacturer. I will update my review as needed. If I can get the silly thing open, it might be salvageable.Word to the wise: get your own batteries. I don't typically leave batteries in items; however, such a short period of time and under temperature-controlled ZERO USE conditions, this should not have been an issue. Even more ideal would be a version that charges via a USB-C cord.

For the wild life photographer, this is a must, however, try not to let it run away with your mischievous gene, as you plan and plot what is loosely known as that 'candid shot'. It works over quite a respectable range and can be trusted to work reliably. However, at distances beyond 20ft or 6 Mtrs, you must take non line of sight obscurement into consideration. This is rare, of course, as you need to see what is going on in front of the lens. It has a very long battery life, which is quite useful. I can't say how long, but long enough to satisfy most photographers, that's for sure. In many cases, you will resort to using it to remove any chance of camera shake, especially with longer exposures. My camera's mirror operation is quite noisy and quite often the subject will flee. The reaction time of smaller creatures is near to astonishing, as your blurred photograph will prove. I find by wrapping the camera in a dark, sound absorbent material, then placing it in a box, helps secure good wild life shots ... and this remote release makes all this possible.A point to note: On some lens/camera combinations, the absence of 1st and 2nd pressures on the shutter release denies the camera auto focussing, so test for this before using your camera in the field. This being the case, you will need to manually focus your camera and hope for the best, of course. Good hunting.
