The same quality as the classic Pentel Pocket Brush but with dark gray ink. Wish the ink was a shade or two lighter as it’s not far off the black shade. Also, this ink is somewhat less waterproof than the black ink, although works well with Copics.

This gray pentel pocket brush makes some of my rougher pen sketches work! It’s a good idea to get the black one first though.

I had been looking for great grey ink brush pens for years. After falling in love with the Pentel black ink brush pens I decided to give their grays a shot. They did not disappoint. Great control, solid inks. A+ all around.

Wish the grey ink cartridges were easy to get. It’s a borderline cool to neutral dark grey. Not a warm grey. Brush is fine to broad in strokes. Some practice will get the strokees and line depth you need. If new to this brush I would suggest picking up the pocket brush black to practice as that ink is cheaper and easier to find. You can refill it with your own ink and there are you tube videos for those. Wish there were more grey ink and sepia brushes to choose from but at least Pentel is thinking of us.

Like another reviewer, I found the grey ink to be too dark for my liking. Using a grey scale & value finder it measured a 3, in a 1 (black) to 10 (white) range. Being new to the brush, I found it easy to accidentally go from thin to thick lines, but practice should help. Brush is worth a try, but I will continue to use a fine-tip ink pen and shade with a brush. That works for me.

Able to do fine tip strokes/lines and also thick lines. Brush tips snaps back to shape too. Make sure you store brush side up. Cartridge is easy to replace. Wish the grey was lighter.
