I put these on my older floor tom that I lost 2 of the feet. Played it like that for years. I put these on and the difference is definitely there!

Added these to my 1958 Ludwig 16" floor tom with straight (cocktail?) legs. What a difference it made. The sound and tone is sooo much better. I got another set to put on my 1990ish 18" Tama Superstar floor tom. Difference was not quite as profound but was still noticeable. In any case, I highly recommend getting these. It's an inexpensive way to improve the sound of your floor tom

I really didn't expect this big of a change, but I put these feet on my floor tom 30 seconds ago and was blown away. SO much more resonance than with the stock hard rubber caps. Big, blooming tone, like I changed the heads or something, but nope, still my cheap floor tom with old heads... makes it sound like a million bucks.Easy to install... I was a little bummed that 3 rubber pieces cost 20 bucks, but it was money well spent!

With so many variables affecting drum sound, first, some context / backstory: I recently purchased a late 60s, early 70s Majestic Deluxe in 13/16/22. These are MIJ drums made by Star before they became Tama. I've had a set before and they are surprisingly decent sounding for what they are. The shells are all in round and I've been able to get the kick and rack tom to sound pretty good after swapping heads and playing with tuning. The floor tom not so much - no matter what just couldn't get it to sound right. I re-worked the bearing edges with my preferred roundover and checked to ensure each side was level all way around (each side had some dips, the batter being worse). I raided the wife's fabric and stuffed the lugs with felt. I installed new Gibraltar 3mm flanged hoops (a nice middle ground between thinner flanged hoops and die cast and they look just like the originals, just beefier). Evans EC2S batter and G1 res. Tuned close to where I like, but not perfect, just for a quick test. I held the drum by the rim and OH YEAH! SOUNDING GOOD! Put the legs on and set it on the 1/4 inch thick drum rug. Dead, weird sounding. WTF!!? Since I had already eliminated most other problematic areas, was it the legs with their 50 year old thin rubber feet? I held the drum up with one hand and had it resting on just one foot and... presto... back to sounding pretty good with good sustain.I had seen these Pearl Suspension Feet before and thought they were gimmicky. I just put them on a couple hours ago and yes, they absolutely make a difference! It's quite astonishing really. I'm going to put some on my mid 70s Ludwig FT too. Yes, it's a few little pieces of rubber for 25-30 bucks, but the sound difference, at least on older toms with thin, old feet, is totally worth it.

These things work very well if you want more volume, sustain, and low-end from your drum. I converted a 14" Pearl Export tom into a floor tom and these feet were the finishing touch. It really thumps now with way more more low-end, volume and resonance than it had with the feet that came with the Gibraltar legs. Had I known about this magic I might have purchased the more expensive Pearl legs with these feet already included. Also be aware these are kind of big--about 2 to 3 times the size of regular floor-tom feet.

This is the second set of these I've used on floor toms. Since I have a second kit I needed them.Do they really make a difference? Definitely, Yes! I wasn't sure if I'd use them on the second kit. But when I setup one evening, and the floor tom wasn't on my drum rug, I noticed the drum sounded almost choked (with only the rubber feet that came with the legs). The next day I was playing with it and tested the same drum both on a carpet and on a hard surface. The drum had more sustain on the carpet than on the hard floor. So I set the drum up with the legs from my other floor tom and tested the drum. What a difference! The drum had even more sustain on the carpet, but also maintained that sustain on the hard floor. Definitely worth the few $ for a much better sounding drum.

A common problem with many a floor tom is it sounds great when you hold it by the rim and then when you put it down on the floor it just dies. The connection to the floor just cancels out many frequencies that make a floor tom sound big. These feet effectively un-couple the tom from the floor letting the tom sing out like it should. Problem solved! These are 3/8" (9.5 mm) so make sure you have that size legs. Gibraltar makes similar feet that fit other sizes.

This a great product in it's utter simplicity and effectiveness... it does what it supposed to do.If you've ever encountered a situation where resonance was loss with a floor tom, or the drum sounded choked, this product will fix the problem. I think it works by decoupling the drum from the surface it's sitting on, thus allowing the drum to resonate freely.I recommended this product to friends and they use it on any brand of drums they own. Pearl definitely hit this one "out of the park".
