This is the third time I replaced the AT shifter cable since I bought the Trailblazer brand new in 2006. Thrice over 18 years isn't bad if you remember to replace the cable before it breaks down. I only wish AC Delco improves the durability of the product because the bushings are a weak point and could lock your transmission in park or gear when they wear out.

No le tome foto ya que corrí a dejárselo al mecánico ya que ni en autozone encontré...quedó a la primera sin problema... Siempre revisar que sea para el caso de una trailblazer ext..que las piezas sean para este modelo y no el modelo corto...

What can I say, I gave this 5 stars for "Ease of installation" but installation was a bit of a pain. Not the product's fault! The product was an OEM Fit for my 2004 GMC Envoy. Didn't go into gear one morning and I found that the very end fell off of the cable where it attaches to the transmission. There were several other options like just buying a new tip, but I only wanted to do this job ONCE, so I got the OEM cable. You have to pull the old one out obviously, and that requires some knowhow. Have to pull the center console out and some door trim pieces and lift the driver's side carpet up. It's a pain, but imagine what a shop would charge! I'm sure I saved at lease $500 by doing this myself. Works like a champ!

2004 Envoy XUV- Bushings on original failed, got bushings kit to fix and that didn't fix the issue of my vehicle not wanting to go in to park. After some research, I found that sometimes when the bushings fail and it pops off it will mess up the cable, which is what happened in my case. I found this cheaper here than the auto parts store ($65 +tax), which they were going to have to order anyway and either way it was going to be a 2 day wait so I opted to save money. It was easy to replace (I'm a female and was able to do it). I pulled the vehicle up on ramps, chocked the back wheels and got to work. It came with no instructions, just do a YouTube search, it will show you exactly what you need to do. You'll want to have a screw driver handy. The worst part was removing the console and pulling back the carpet.If you're not afraid of getting your hands dirty I would definitely recommend buying this and doing it yourself or having someone besides a garage do it for you.

This shift cable is an exact match for the 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. Easy to install yourself too. Installation tips: Place front of vehicle on jack stands (I used drive-on ramps); Remove shifter handle and then center console (6-8 screws, 4 of which are under the plastic cd holder insert; also, there is an electrical plug that you need to disconnect); Remove the driver's side plastic trim piece that holds down the carpet (when routing the new cable, you need reach under the carpet); Disconnect the top side of the shift cable (just snaps off); Under vehicle, remove the rubber, floorboard boot, and then pull the old cable out (when removing old cable, pay close attention to how it 's routed and how the "plastic holder thing" fits to the frame; NOTE: there's a metal U-shaped retaining clip that must be removed with a flat-tip screwdriver); Install new cable and put everything back together! NOTE: When I was trying to seat the new floorboard boot, I finally put the entire boot through the hole (from underneath the vehicle), positioned it, and just gently pulled down on the cable....the boot popped right in. Finally, a second set of hands was very helpful guiding the cables (out & in)....my wife assisted me and believe me, she's not a mechanic!! Good Luck!

Oem replacement cable is no different from the original design. Fits the same and has all the same clips and stays. I wish the part would be given an update to the female connector to make them more rigid and less prone to failure.
