it works okay, but it is a little thinner then one ones I've bought from stores. my main need for this one was to manage fires on top of stumps I'm doing Burn Outs on, so it'll do for my needs, but i would look into getting a thicker one if you are going to make a permanent fire pit on a porch area.

If you haven't noticed, this fire ring is sent in a nice compact box containing six pieces. You assemble it in a particular way, so be sure to read the little note they have placed twice in the packaging. The steel is of a nice weight. I needed to build a fire ring for a family member but trying to get a big round ring in the car wasn't happening. This is just what I needed. I think we can get some bricks around this for a cozy effect. The top edge is really nice and will make it look finished and not just like a boring flat circle. It's frozen outside right now so this will get assembled on a warmer day, but I can't wait to get it set up!

I was surprised immediately at what a simple assembly this fire pit is. There are two screws and washers on each section. A wrench for the nut, and an Allen wrench for the bolt/screw is included. The firepit is made of high quality, sturdy metal that I am confident will contain a fire safely. I am well into the age of being a grandmother. Though, I had no problem assembling the firepit and no problem carrying it out to the yard.I started to build a fire pit last summer. I didn't get far. I lined up stones where I wanted the pit to be. I started to dig then realized I had a lot more digging to do in order for the fire pit to be safe. The stars had to align in that this fire pit worked out so well for me. It is perfect fit for the firepit I started to build.I intend to collect more stones on my property to build up around the firepit. I love that it has given me a great frame to follow and to provide stability to complete the project while also providing the safety to withstand the heat, that field stones might not necessarily achieve.I also love that this firepit is so light weight and portable, I can easily carry it to different parts of my yard. I cut down a tremendous amount of thorn bushes, and raspberry bushes on my property, that of course are miserable to handle any more than necessary. This firepit is so easy to transport, there will be no need for me to load up the wheel barrel to bring the thorny branches and bushes to the firepit. Moreover, we have had two black outs in our area in less than a year that lasted almost a week. Now, I don't have to worry about having propane. I can bring the firepit out from the back yard and move it close to the house to make a pot of coffee or cook, if need be, in an emergency.There was a slight flaw in the fire pit. The edges did not line up perfectly. (See photo 4) It is a fire pit enclosure, so it doesn't bother me or take away from the aesthetics in my opinion. Once it is surrounded by stones, attention will likely be on the stones, and I doubt anyone will ever notice or care.At 40 dollars this is a phenomenal value. It is so versatile and economical I would love to get a second one. I am very happy with the firepit, and I highly recommend it.

This fire ring seems like it will be great for a fire pit and heavy duty enough without being too light or too heavy, but I was disappointed that the rim doesn't line up perfectly. It makes it look cheap. I'm also worried about the black that came off on my fingers as I was assembling the pieces since the paint might come off in the weather if it came off with me touching it a little bit. I can't be sure if the paint came off of the screws or the fire ring itself.
