If you do your own disk breaks, and want a little better turn around time over that C-clamp you have and random piece of old wire you tie the calipers up with, consider this. Been doing my own disk breaks/rotors for almost 20 years. The giant C-clamp I bought was a good low cost way to compress the calipers, but it was a hack. Looking forward to the next pair of pads being changed out and getting to use this.Solid construction, but a little loose play in the hinge for the handle to move the parts. Nothing horrible, but there is a rattle to the looseness in the hing. This is a one off of a caulk gun and works well for what I need it to do. The handle thickness is much better than my actual caulk gun. (See photo)The only things I do not love are: to de/attach the second piece, you need to spin the shaft that the tool moves, there was some manufacturing debris on the surface of the blue foam cutout, and there is no case. I am not a mechanic with a huge locking wheeled tool chest. The foam cutout is for that storage method. I like random roto-molded cases for tools so I can stack them in the garage on shelves.

Another great tool from Orion. They really make great and affordable tools for the home garage. I used this caliper press for my 03 z4 and did an amazing job at pressing the calipers. Very easy to use. Works like a caulk gun. This came with some accessories too such as gloves, couples caliper hangers and most amazingly the custom foam tray. For 35 bucks this is a good deal and again a great tool to have for when you need it. No more c-clamps for me.

As a car enthusiast, I love doing my own car maintenance. It gives me a better understanding of my vehicle’s condition and allows me to use higher-quality parts for improved safety. Recently, when changing my brake pads, I faced a common challenge: how to compress the brake caliper pistons. In the past, I used a C-clamp, but it was time-consuming and sometimes damaged the piston. So, I decided to try this Dual Piston Brake Caliper Compressor, and it was a game-changer.This tool’s dual-piston design allows you to compress two pistons at once, making it much more efficient and less time-consuming. Even someone with less strength can easily use it without any issues. It’s made from high-strength steel, so it’s durable and can easily handle various car and truck brake calipers. Plus, the anti-slip design makes it safer and more reliable to use. What I love most is that this tool is compatible with both single and dual pistons on most cars and trucks. It's versatile and perfect for a variety of vehicles, making it a great value for the price. Whether you’re doing regular maintenance or need an emergency fix, this tool is sure to be useful. The design is simple and easy to operate, even for beginners. It’s definitely become an essential part of my toolkit!

Great for larger calipers. I run a mobile basic maintenance and repair business and this tool makes easy work of calipers of all sizes. I have used this on a Nissan Altima as well as a ford f250 and had no problems with either. Easily fits in your hand as well.

It comes in the case, it looks pretty sturdy, super easy to use when changing the breaks. Great to have it as part of the auto maintenance tool. Work smoothly.
