Not much to add really. I use the larger filter for a Twin Cyl. 24 HP, seems like a good idea for the larger capacity Vs. the stock filter.

This oil filter 83-283 is working good on my 24 hp Kawaki. It is not shown to work on my engine but if you compare the dimensions to the one recommended they are the same as this one. The only thing different is this one is a little larger than the one recommended. I have had no sins of any leaks or issues at all. This is my second one used on my mower.

Bought it to replace the oil filter on my Cub Cadet Xt1 - 18HP Kohler. Fit like OEM. Its an Oil Filter, I assume its doing its job!. Would buy again, better price then Kohler filters.

An oil filter is designed to filter your oil and then be disposed of. I never saw a lot sense in buying expensive oil filters since they are changed on a regular basis. This particular filter fit my application and it's doing what it's supposed to do, which is filter my oil.I bought 2 of them so I'll be ready for my next oil change. I've noticed that small engine oil filters are twice as expensive as automobile oil filters. It's not that more material or work goes into making them. It's all part of the "Supply and Demand" game. They have it, you want it, you pay the price or do without it. That's how the game is played. I can't compare this filter to other brands of oil filters. They all do the same thing. There's no way for me to know if one does a better job than another. As long as it filters my oil and doesn't leak, that's basically all I can ask for.
