they included some extra parts - [you expect it to be used a lot?]the thing is tall and heavy built with steel and/or cast frame with all steel for the main parts.only the handle is plastic and the chain grippers are either rubber,plastic or neoprene?it ought to out last our use of this tool. so much better than peening rivets with a hammer

This should last years of use if looked after, spins a perfect rivet to a factory finish. Just take your time a little oil and keep pressure on as you turn. If you never used one a little practice first is well worth it.

Great tool. I was able to fix 2x chains and make 3x new ones the day it arrived. It takes some fiddling to figure out how to hold the chain in position, but then it's fine. It helps to keep tension on both sides of the splice, so I place my foot on the bottom of the loop.

I have used different brands of chain spinners over my many years working on small engines and the Oregon brand has always been the most reliable and the easiest to get replacement parts for. There are knock off brands that are made of much cheaper steel and you can't get normal replacement parts for the knock off brands. You basically use the knock off brands until you can't use them anymore and throw it away. I like products that I know are going to last and can get normal use replacement parts for. The Oregon 24549B Bench Rivet Spinner comes with instructions on how to bolt it down and how to properly spin a chain rivet down. Very Well Built.
