This adaptor let me convert from a 24.5 mm bar to a 31.8 mm bar. All my components are silver/chrome, so I was happy to find this in a matching finish. The final stack height is fine for my purposes, but be aware that you can only raise it about 3.5 cm.

It works if you want to convert a quill stem, but will not fit tight. I can still turn the stem by itself if I put enough pressure to one side. I didn’t realize it won’t be tight because the bottom is smooth and not serrated or have grooves to catch on. Had to buy it twice after over tightening the first one and then realize the issue was with this adapter itself.

This piece is solid and clean. Installed on a cheapo bmx bike to put threadless stem on there. Worked great. Butts up with the fork locknut perfectly flush.

The expander nut is smooth aluminum so it doesn't grip the steerer tube very well. No matter how much you torque the bolt, the adapter will spin given a little bit of force counter to the fork. Its probably fine for riding smooth surfaces, but I don't trust taking it off-road.

If you are looking to hide a quill stem adapter under a stem riser extension, the milled shoulder on this part helps it sync all but completely inside the riser extension, for a clean look. You can just barely see an 1/8” left at the bottom in this picture.
