Over 21 years, this part has failed for a reason, either cutting too tall of grass, but mainly for not strong enough ground connection, and aged positive side parts. (Relays-PTO switch-etc)Recently ordered isolation relays and fuse holders. Old PTO output now only feeds new relay coil (all safety’s still in play) fused (red)wire from battery through relay straight to PTO. Ground at PTO screwed to frame. (Make sure negative from battery is heavily connected to frame, add more bigger ground wires)Have gone through at least 4 of these Amazon parts over last 4 years.Went through as many OEM’s while mower was still in warranty. Not until I installed heavy ground wire to frame, did OEM’s quit burning up PTO coils.Today, all recent failures have been on red side of coil. FIX CAUSE OF FAILURELet old 12v energize relay coil only, use relay contact to power PTO coil directly, eliminating all else.

Excellent product. Plug in next to housing eliminates wires breaking at housing requiring unit replacement as the only solution. Finally engineered properly.
