The EZ Handoff
What is The EZ Handoff?
Designed by a Registered Nurse, The EZ Handoff is a perfect clinical tool for ANY nurse or nursing student that wants to improve on giving and receiving report/handoff!
- The spiral-bound notebooks contain prompted, custom designed templates that can be filled in and edited with a pencil throughout a shift.
- On the inside of the front cover, there is a glossary of medical abbreviations used in the custom designed templates.
- The custom designed templates are already organized into SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) format to optimize organization and flow.
- Proudly made and manufactured in the USA with high quality materials
There are two versions of The EZ Handoff. There is the “Compact Edition” and the “Full Size Edition”. See below for an overview of the two products.
The EZ Handoff “Compact Edition”
Portability
The “Compact Edition” is the original EZ Handoff design. Measuring 6x6”, the “Compact Edition” was created with portability in mind, allowing it to fit in most scrub pockets for ease of access.
What’s Inside?
Due to its smaller size, the “Compact Edition” includes 80 pages. This comes to 40 double-sided, custom designed templates (already organized into SBAR format).

Used for the 1st 10 min of clinical. Didnt fit in pocket and wasnt practical to carry around 😔

I love this little book, but I'm actually going to be changing out to a erasable book. While I love this one, the turnover on my floor is too high to justify continuously buying new books. It has all the info spots I need, and while I've heard some mention it's size, I love that it doesn't take up a huge amount of space while I'm already dealing with space issues for my nursing tools and patient charts.I would recommend, but if you have a really high turnover it may not be appropriate.

While I like the content of the pages, size is not full size. It's about 1/2 of a page. I ended up using it to make my own.

While this handoff tool has many great features for info one might collect at handoff, it’s poorly organized! Space is given for info I would not normally jot down in a handoff such as vital signs bc I can see that in the chart and I review trends. The lines and drains section with the avatar is lacking also!
