These polyester felt placemats look nice, but I think they’re on the small side for American dinner plates. You can barely see the edges around the casual plate I put on top. Also, it is dry clean only, which just doesn’t make sense for a regular placemat. You’d have to worry about it getting dirty. I thought about using one as a trivet to protect the counter from a hot pan, but I am not confident that 100% polyester felt would not melt from the heat.The coasters are a nice touch and I can see using those. The placemats seem to be more decorative for maybe under a potted plant.

I actually ordered these in the hopes that they’d work for my wreaths that I make. I like to attach a piece of felt to the back to cover up my pipe cleaners/zip ties. It neatens things up quite a bit. These work exceptionally well for this, and I’m so excited because I don’t have to measure and cut felt and I don’t have to use a hole punch for attaching them. I can just attach one to the back of the wreath using zip ties, and they already have small holes in the design along the edges that work perfectly for securing them in place. They’re the perfect size for most of my wreaths, and I’m confident they will hold up well because they’re so well made. I wanted a neutral color that would work with any color scheme, and the gray is ideal for that, even though I know matching isn’t as important since this is on the back and rarely seen, but I still think of it as being a thoughtful final touch to my creations. I will absolutely order more of these, and I’m very happy with them. I can also say that these would most definitely make lovely placemats because they’re beautifully designed and they’re cut thick, so they would offer ample protection for your table. I love that the package also includes a set of matching coasters. I plan to use them for my handmade items as well. I haven’t quite decided how I will incorporate them just yet, but I’m happy to have them on hand because I already have a few promising ideas in mind for upcoming projects. These are such a great deal for the price. I love the variety of colors and I’m considering the purple set for my next order. These are very nice felt placemats. I got them for Thanksgiving dinner and did a table decoration test run for a dinner this week. They are thick and stay flat. The drink coasters are adorable and also stay flat. The color is beautiful and neutral and will go very well for Thanksgiving and other fall dinners. They are on the small side so make sure to measure your plates. These are perfect for my needs because we have large Thanksgivings and the plates are catering sizes which are on the smaller size. The add a nice warmth to the table without overwhelming or taking away from the decorations.
