Clutch Cable
What is it?
- A clutch cable allows the vehicle to change gear
Why Replace?
- They break, the constant stress of the cable sliding in and out causes a break at one of the end.
- The cable casing gets damaged due to being close to moving parts, damaged housing causes the cable to bend and corrode.
When to replace?
- A common sign that your clutch cable is damaged and needs replacing is if the clutch lever is stiff or your gear shifts aren’t smooth
Throttle Cable
What is it?
- The engine of your bike needs air and fuel to run. When you turn the throttle, it connects to the pull cable and pulls open the butterfly valve. This allows air to enter the intake manifold
Choke Cable
What is it?
- A choke cable is designed to restrict the flow of air in the carburettor of an engine
Choke Facts
- There is no harm using the choke to start an engine. When it’s cold, it can be a necessity to get started
- Using it a choke will only lead to increase fuel usage, but no damage to the vehicle.
Pull Throttle Cable
What is it?
- This is the cable that pulls open the valve when you turn the throttle. It allows air to get into your engine
When to replace?
- You should replace your throttle cables after three years or 10,000 miles
- If a cable breaks, frays, or you change your handlebar you will need a different cable as well
Push Pull Throttle Cable
What is it?
- A dual cable throttle operation where the pull cable opens the throttle plates, while the push cable, along with a throttle return spring, closes the throttle plates
Installing Tip
- When installing a new cable, make sure to note the routing of the original cable. Also, the dimensions of the new cables must be identical, allowing for the fact that old cables do stretch over time.
Maintenance
- After a race or as often as possible after washing to remove the cables from the bike and flush them through with a blast of air. Also the nipples can also be lubricated, with copper grease
Push Throttle Cable
What is it?
- The push cable is a safety addition, there is a spring that will close the valve whenever the throttle isn’t activated but if the spring fails the push cable safely closes the valve.
When to replace?
- You should replace your throttle cables after three years or 10,000 miles
- If a cable breaks, frays, or you change your handlebar you will need a different cable as well

Though the product was the proper fitment for this application, I was extremely disappointed in the quality. Seems they spent more time on their packaging than the reliability of the item.This cable failed in less than 100 easy riding break-in miles. I’m extremely grateful that we noticed the issue when the bike was in my garage, and not in an emergency. This is the second Niche product that has failed prematurely in the last 2 months.Do better, someone could have gotten injured

For $14 total with tax and shipping this is a great deal! Just buy 2 so you always have an extra one. I've heard they snap after around 100 miles. But it really all depends on how much you use it and how tight it is. Great replacement if your in a hurry and need something cheap asap

Bought this end of last year and rode a quite a few times after then pulled the bike out this year got some more riding in and then cable began to fray while I was out far from home, got me home but even when installed it didn’t seem to up to par for quality the cable ends were barely soldered into the pin. I’d look for another company to buy from.
