I bought this to monitor the results of rifle brass annealing. It is not designed for this purpose and had to be modified by bench grinding and Dremeling the underside & sides of the anvil (NOT THE TOP!) so that the neck of 30 caliber cartridges could be inserted over the anvil and hardness tested.
