It's well-made and works great. It's on an older 322 gas, which I still use, and it's half the cost of a green one.

Once installed correctly, this clutch seems to be excellent. As others have noted, there is no mention of setting the air gap. Another commenter was told by the Rep that the gap is .040 but could be reduced to as little as .020. I was told that only .050 would do.At .050, the self- locking nut is not on the stud far enough to engage the locking section of the nut. For that reason, I had to reduce it.On a installation video by a Tech who sells this brand clutch , no mention of setting the air gap.

After bolting tge pto clutch onto the engine, you MUST set the pto manget air gap to 0.050" using a feeler gauge. Youtube it to find out how. Otherwise fit my John Deere 318 well.

I'd been noticing that the battery charging light turned on for a few seconds after activating the front PTO on my John Deere 316. Then it began blowing the 20 amp fuse located behind the control panel when activating the PTO. Checked the resistance on the front PTO coil, was reading 1 ohm, should be 2-4 ohms. Looks like time for a new PTO.Removed the old PTO, plastic material (resin?) covering the coil wiring was cracked in several places. Installation of the new PTO clutch was straightforward, instructions included with the kit were generic, not specific to the model. One thing left out was the setting for the clutch air gap, had to contact support to get that. Support recommended 0.040" to start with, can move it down to as much as 0.020" if the clutch is sluggish to engage or wants to disengage. Looks like they've redesigned the wiring, the wire now comes out of the bottom of the coil the same as the OEM clutch, some earlier reviews had mentioned that it came out of the top.Overall looks like a good replacement for half the price of a new clutch from John Deere.

Did need to tune, as it would kill the engine on engaging but after tuning it works flawlessly

this is a direct replacement for the JD 318. Great instructions, only difference between OEM is the wire harness comes out on top and not at the bottom of clutch when mounted. Not a problem since the harness is longer and it can be routed where needed
