I can’t comment on the fitment because I used this on a 335D (m57n2 diesel) so it was expected fitment be slightly different so yes I did fight with it but eventually got it. For starters the clip-on intercooler inlets need to be filed down a little bit from the manufacturing process, they were a little rough and I didn’t want to cut the O-rings. I used brand new factory O-rings. To install on a diesel need to remove the hot side intercooler hose and stick it on first and then mount into the car. The cold side or the charge side popped on very easily. The only mounting hardware that came with this kit was a stud to adapt the factory mounting points into normal threads and 13 mm spacer or so per side. It may have been my kit specifically but it did not come with the mounting brackets so I had to modify larger hardware to size ( roughly 16mm thread length( did it eye). I also used nutserts and installed them on the rebar and made aluminum brackets. I did modify the stock radiator rad shroud cassette to access the intercooler hardware and run the brackets. It being a diesel so it’s slightly different it took me probably double amount of time to fit everything and making brackets. When finished the intercooler looks great and fits well. The only thing I had to do was cut the shroud fins upfront but that was optional no need to modify. This intercooler is the most OEM fitment intercooler I have installed. Every other intercooler I’ve installed on other BMWs Needed extensive modification to the rebar or radiator shroud and bumper. With this kit you don’t even need to trim the bumper. I have not used this kit long term or even use it for a mile yet so I can’t tell you if it leaks or not. If it does leak I can only see leaking around the O-ring areas. 335d is fully deleted making roughly 700TQ and max psi 37 or so psi. This intercooler looks solid. Believe it or not I’m a little happier than the ATM intercooler I have on my e70 x5D.I think if this was a gasser 335i I believe fitment would’ve been a breeze and you will be in and out within roughly 4 hours or less if brackets were provided on drive up ramps if your a DYIer. The bottom of the intercooler matches up perfectly with the undertray as well which is nice. Nice OEM+ mod using factory quick connectors. Skill level if brackets were included I would say it’s something along the lines of four out of 10. It’s pretty easy.I do have to say if you have the diesel the stock charge pipe fits very tightly and doesn’t allow much room for movement so we will lol I to extending the pipe. We did also install brand new engine mounts so the engine sits up higher now. Generally it is recommended to change your engine mounts when doing intercooler and stuff like that for correct fitment and less engine movement which can loosen or break the connections causing boost leak or cause oil leaks(diesels do burn oil)We have a lift at my shop where we do tuning and a few other services.Most of this information may not be useful to anyone that does not have a M57 diesel but I believe if you’re looking for a quick or cheap intercooler this is it. By the way I bought this as corona started about a year ago and the price has raised significantly I just finally got to install it.
