Just arrived and it looks fine, except that it did NOT come with the pictured clamp on the drain port. Be warned.

Tricky to install as it is not the original part. Had to have a repairman install it- came out as intended.

The product is well made. fits well but the installation is difficult due to the large springged wire that puts pressure on the outside perimeter to seal the gasket to the machine. That was not easy to put back and required a serious struggle.

As others mentioned this boot is a bit thicker than the original. It has a drain hole in the front which my original boot didn't have. This drain hole needs to be plugged if yours does not have it, or buy the drain hose (pn: 22004477) and install it when you change the boot. [shop around if you buy the drain hose, some prices are outrageous even here on Amazon, mine was $35 elsewhere.]The retaining cable & spring is difficult to reinstall even with the available spanner tool. But that's a design issue not the boot. This boot does have alignment markings so getting the correct boot orientation is no problem.

I purchased this after discovering that the OEM door seals are no longer available. The size was perfect, it matched the original, and the quality seems very good. I ordered the Bellow, Door Boot, part number 12002533 for the early 2000s Maytag Neptune washer, model MAH6500AWQ. As others note, fitting is fiddly, and you have to go really slowly as you ease the new seal on - I started at the top and worked my way down each side simultaneously, very slowly. I also made a spring extender by reversing a clamp and using a couple of cable ties, so that made refitting the spring, which holds the cable securing the seal, very easy. Four washes later, and no sign of leaks. I carefully cleaned everything I could access once I'd removed the front of the washer, paying particular attention to around the door where the seal makes contact.

Did the job, no directions or anything included. If you get one there are nubs to indicate top middle and bottom middle. Index these first and install around. I had to uninstall this one twice before it seated correctly. If it isn't seated properly there are issues with the door closing properly.

Installation took about 4 hours solo due to fighting the spring and wire. Spring wire cable is very difficult to stretch over the new gasket while holding everything in place. I ended up stretching the spring by hooking one end onto a part of the metal frame and pulling the other with a claw hammer. I then stuffed a bunch of nickels into it to keep it stretched so I could hook it on the retaining wire. Everything else was easy enough, no leaks and washer looks and smells brand new again.

The product was installed by a qualified person but he still found it a bit tricky, not due to the product but just because aligning is a bit of a challenge. Value for money gets a low score because this is a discontinued part by Maytag so you pay a premium from other suppliers. Our washing machine is back in order with its new seal-working great. Love the fact we have a 19 year old washing machine which has required little attention over it's long service life.

It fit and seems better quality (thicker rubber) then the existing one. Although it was a bit of a pain to install (the lip that goes over the drum is somewhat small and kept coming off when attempting to put the spring loaded wire that keeps it in place), once it was on it worked great and the washer no longer leaks.

The procedure for installing this boot is straightforward. There are at least a couple of good Youtube videos demonstrating the disassembly, installation, and reassembly of the washer. The major problem is stretching a steel wire and its tentioning spring around the tub lip. It's hard to apply sufficient force to stretch the spring without the wire slipping off the tub lip. It took me many times. I ended up adding a small ring to lengthen the fixed portion of the assembly. Specialized tools might have helped but it is what it is. Once installed the new boot is as good (and bad) as the original. I now give the boot a quick wipe and leave the washer door open to hopefully retard new mold growth.

This thing is great. It's an exact replacement part that worked like a charm. Take the time to find a how-to video online to get the steps right for removing the old seal and installing the new one. I am so glad I was able to find this part online since none of the appliance repair / parts stores in town had the part in stock and could not source it. Thanks Amazon.ca!
