First an honest opinion will not be posted by A ma Zone, so item was more of a see through color, and even after waiting 3 weeks, the color did not change and item was almost invisible. This plug could be used in gail force wind with horizontal rain coming like sea state 5 sailing around the horn and would still be safe to use, but again useless. I am sure that the reader figured out that I waited almost a month before being told that they lost the item un shipment, or did not ship, but they don't know.

Note good. CAUTION. You get hot on both X and Y. This could be a problem with 240 vac connection. Not phased 180 apart. Should be hot on one. CAUTION if connection 120vac generator to fuse panel. Turn off all 240vac breakers connected in fuse panel. 240vac motors / Pumps/ furnace fans.

I recently built a cabin and it is wired for power from a generator, but I wanted the option of solar/ wind power also. My dilemma was how to connect from my 3 prong inverter outlet to the 4 prong generator outlet. I never knew that there was an adapter until I happened to come across this on a Google search. What an awesome find and it works perfectly!

I'm not happy with this item. I purchased this for my food trailer,that I'm having built.When it arrived, we tried to hook this to my main source ,only to discover that it wasn't working.

This adapter is built to let you power 120V-only loads which are:...wired to a panel having an L14-30P (120/240V) inlet device, a common situation with home generator inlet / transfer-switch setups; and/or...wired to an RV-type panel using either an L14-30P inlet or a TT-30P inlet plus an adapter to L14-30P (NOT to L5-30P);...from a 120V source having a 5-15R or 5-20R receptacle (ordinary 120V home-style receptacle).So long as you only try to power 120V loads this is a very useful adapter.This adapter will NOT convert 120V to 240V. If you use it, any 240V loads (such as a well pump) wired to your panel will not work, but turning them on may pop the breaker or blow the fuse on your generator, and such loads may even sustain damage themselves depending on how they work inside.
