Novel and immensely usefulA novel approach as a battery grip. Testing with my Neewer HS60B COB light. The Grip includes braided USB-C to USB-C and DC cable. The USB-C and DC ports on the grip are both bi-directional, capable of charging or powering the light. Please ensure the source used to charge the grip supports the needed specs. I tested using one of my Neewer V Mount batteries, the USB-C ports. The battery grip certainly powered quickly. The grip includes battery check lights that go from 1 to 4 lights so you can monitor charging or battery use. There's also an adaptor which goes from the grip's top screw to the light. The grip has a round tightening dial. The bottom of the grip also has a 1/4 inch mount. One use of the grip is as a handle while powering the light. This is great for mobility.Additionally, though the grip can be mounted to a light stand. This presents its most unique solution. Consider how many times you're trying to bolt on power to a light stand. Given these types of COB lights are small, there's normally no way to mount a V Mount or power bank to the light. By using this handle solution, you can mount it to the top of the light stand. No need to tie a batter to the stand or dangle a cable off of the light. I'd love to see solutions like this for all my small COB lights.Great design and an interesting power solution for small lights.

Really wish it were higher capacity, but it works well and looks nice.

The website indicates the battery supports the HS60B and MS60B portable COB lights. My Neweer MS60C light is nearly identical to the MS60B – it has the same power rating and takes the same input voltages, and this battery using the DC output worked just fine with my MS60C. I also tried the battery and DC output with my Godox MS60IIBi portable COB light (similar specs and functionality as the MS60C), and the battery powered that light also. The battery is compact and works well as a grip for hand holding a light. It does have some weight to it.The battery includes a USB-C to USB-C cable, a DC connector cable, and a 1/4-inch mounting head. I had no trouble charging it using a USB-C wall adapter that supported up to 20 watts. There are four blue status LEDs that indicate the charge level for the battery.I am quite happy with the battery. It is another 5-star product from Neweer.

I've been on the market for a new V-mount battery pack for using with my small COB lights. Well, while I was still researching, I was intrigued by this new handle grip design when I saw it. Having tried and used it with my little Godox COB light, I absolutely love this solution! The fact that I don't have to worry about how to mount the battery pack on to the light stand is already enough to convince me that this product from Neweer is the way to go. Mounting is very versatile, offering me multiple quick ways to fix it on to my stand. Makes my setup simpler and cleaner! The quality of the battery grip is solid and excellent. Well-made and built like a tank. Charging speed is good, but only with a higher voltage USB plug. I initially used a 5w charger (I know that's silly, but it was conveniently on my desk already), but that took forever, like 3 hours, to light up the first of the four status LEDs! Changed it to a 60w one after that and it charged up fully in about 2 hours. Not bad.The connection options are good. I used the DC cable on my Godox and it provided me with full power without any issues. I like they provided a short cable (one USB-C and one DC in), so I didn't have a lot of excess cable length to deal with. Works super great. It's also convenient to simply grab the light by the handle now, especially when I have a softbox attached. This is so refreshingly fun and practical. There are a few annoyances with the battery grip. First, the power push button is way too easy to hit whilst in hand. I wished it was recessed or better yet, with a stronger detent click when pushed. I kept accidentally knocking the switch while using it and that was quite annoying to say the least. Secondly, the rubber cover flap for the USB-C is way to soft and loose. So I kept pulling that out whilst just holding the battery grip in my hand. I mean it's good for keeping water splashes out, but I'm not too sure if it's that effective anyway, so I just pulled it off entirely. It is much better now. Again, Neewer should have simply recessed the rubber cover.Overall, a wonderful product that I'm very happy to use with my small lights. I'm no longer looking to get a V-mount battery pack now, but I'm tempted to get another one of these battery grips for my other lights. But I need to see if I can get used to having that power button so exposed!
