These are acceptable. Quality is low and plastic feeling, they’re also on the small side not just in general fit but also in the length of the cuff. Very low grip material

For the price, they fit well, fingers can fit in finger rings and the material is not too thick on the hand and finger side so you can have more dexterity on the blade. Light padding on the back of hand and fingers for protection. They feel like a little thicker FIE foil gloves.Definitely will want more protection for arming sword, saber, and Definitely longsword. But good for light duty. The only complaint is the pinky is too long (same length as the other fingers), but that is a small complaint.

These tend to run a bit small. They were way to small for the intended recipient; however, I found someone else who could use them. The quality of leather (if that really is leather) is pretty low; however, they are not bad for $30 bucks.

For what you pay for they are not bad. I will say the fingers are a little on the short side but it is padded and they hold up.

Proportions are weird, and too stiff for rapier fencing.I got the large. The fingers are...really skinny, while the palm is really roomy. I usually wear a medium/large glove, and have long and not-particularly-thick fingers. My dad usually wears a large glove and has slightly thicker fingers than me. He could barely get the gloves on. I could put them on, but the fingers were very uncomfortably snug, and really stiff. Meanwhile, the rest of the glove was absurdly roomy which also made it hard to grip anything.I fence rapier with a historical group. I had trouble getting a good grip on my sword while wearing these. I think it was a combination of:- Stiffness of the material. Maybe this would get softer with time, but fencing with it to get to that point would be tricky and dangerous.- Snugness of the fingers. This made it hard to move my fingers.- Looseness of the palm. I use my palm to help support the sword, and the looseness with stiff material made it impossible to really steady the sword.I would not fence with these. The difficulty in holding my sword reduces my control of it, to the point where I would be worried about hurting someone or dropping it.It's possible that with a heavier sword, one with a thicker diameter hilt, and one where you don't lace your index finger through a hole, these would be more usable. I don't know, though. In terms of protection of my hands, these are decent. We use weapons with blunt rubber tips. I tested both impact and sustained pressure on my hands while wearing the gloves, and it was possibly a little better than the gloves I usually use (basic modern fencing gloves). So that's the good thing. Also, they do look cool. But yeah, not very good overall.

My family is involved in a medieval fighting group- which also participates in various activities and demonstrations. It's important to find pieces that look period but aren't crazy expensive. Also that do the job they are supposed to. These gloves have enough padding they can be used in the more formal fights or demonstrations. They are definitely a good value. They do run a bit small- the large fit a women's hand fine- however is tight on my 5'10" son's hand. Hopefully it breaks in a bit and is less stiff. Also while padded- not enough so to use in practices regularly- fine to use occasionally for formal affairs or demonstration. Obviously would work great as a costume piece as well.
