Actually works very well! I just sharpened my blades and checked under the deck. I used this most of the summer after most of my mowings, and my deck was clean as a whistle.

Not as robust as I thought it should be. Seems to work, but it will not last.

Attached to a Cub Cadet ZT1 50, perfect fit. All parts and bolts aligned properly and the threaded nicely. The hose attachment came with a rubber washer and did not drip or leak. Attachment of hose to deck was smooth, no issues even while under pressure. After mowing a wet yard, this attachment cleaned the underside of the mower deck perfectly. I let it run for about 5 or 6 minutes, until the water ran clear. I would highly recommend this deck wash attachment.

I installed the metal version of the squirter (it comes with two versions plastic and metal).Hook it up to your garden hose before you install it and observe the spray pattern. This will help you visualize how it should be installed on the deck. The rotation/orientation is super important.I installed mine so one side shoots across all three blades of the JD L120 deck, and the other side sprays into the blade right beside it.I measured the smallest circle of the fitting with calipers and used a step drill to make a hole that big. Then I hand filed the rest of the 2-3mm away, test fitting as I went. You dont want to make a round hole that will allow the fitting to rotate. We hook up the hose and run hot water for 3 mins with the PTO engaged and grass pours out the bottom. We mow 3.5 acres so sometimes if we see the deck is leaving stripes of tall grass we take a minute to wash out the deck and resume cutting. Works every time. Before we park the tractor we wash it again to make sure the grass clumps dont dry into place. If this happens, you can still wash them out, it just takes longer, like 5-6 minutes.Spray comes right out the chute on the side opposite the water fitting so I know its reaching everywhere. This was a great upgrade for a 20 year old tractor.

A little disappointed that this isn't standard equipment on the mower, but it works great. Highly recommend this upgrade if you plan to keep your mower in top operating condition.

This deck wash kit is a great investment for any lawn mower or tractor owner. It's easy to install and makes cleaning the deck a breeze. I used to spend hours scraping and brushing the grass and dirt off the bottom of my deck, but now I can just hook up the wash kit and let the water do the work. The kit is made of high-quality materials and seems to be very durable. It comes with all the necessary fittings and hardware, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I was able to install the kit in less than 30 minutes.Once the kit is installed, simply attach it to your garden hose and turn on the water. The high-pressure water will blast away all the grass, dirt, and mud from the underside of your deck. You can also use the wash kit to clean the blades and other hard-to-reach areas.I highly recommend the MTD Genuine Parts Deck Wash Kit to anyone who wants to make cleaning their lawn mower or tractor easier and faster. It's a great way to extend the life of your equipment and keep it looking and running its best.

This kit is comprehensive and gives you both types of fittings required for the 2 types of deck wash systems fitted to Cub Cadet mowers. Please note that the hose fittings provided are not correct for the hoses we generally use in Australia and you will need to get a suitable plastic or brass quick connect fitting from your local store if you do not already have one. (the ones supplied only have an open threaded end and not the 2 piece clamping arrangement that attaches them to the end of the bare hose)

I added two of these wash kits to my 42" mower deck. Since it never had any such device on it, I needed to drill holes in the deck. When drilling, observe both access to the quick connector side and where the spray will be under the deck. I used a 5/8" drill bit that just allowed the narrowest threaded part of the nozzle to extend partially into the mower deck. I say “partially” because the next stage of the nozzle is designed for a much larger size opening that is about 3/4" of an inch but has flat sides in order to help tighten the compression nut and assure proper direction of the nozzle spray. Since I did not do the larger opening, I had to be more careful that the nozzle direction was checked throughout tightening. The larger opening would have provided a better spray as the nozzle would have entered the mower deck deeper and might have preventing some of the leaking on the top of the deck. Frankly, I did not want to spend the entire day trying to make such a hole with a file. As it was, the installation took about 5 minutes each side. I used loctite on the threads to minimize loosening. Notice on the pictures how I needed the first nozzle located on the backside of the discharge shoot otherwise this area would always be packed with grass clippings. The deck can be seen to be pretty clean and it totally blasts all the paint off the underside of the deck. At first I was alarmed but as long as you do the wash most every time, it won’t get much of a chance of rotting out the metal. I start with the second port when washing and then move to the first port. You can tell it is clean when the water coming out of the discharge shoot is clean of the green water. Since I was testing the system, these pictures were after washing for about one minute at each port. The recommended is 2 minutes wash (each port) and 2 minutes for air drying. I now do the 2 minute and am very satisfied with the results. There is some leaking but for the fast installation and good results, I can live with a little leaking on the top of the deck.
