The shipping date just keeps getting extended and extended. I bought this one because it was expected on 5/2 now saying 5/9. Hope it comes in, the product itself is quality work.

Unfortunately, these bushings wear and have a tendency to allow the cable to come off the lever... stranding you in whatever gear you were in at the time... in my most recent case, it was reverse and in 4LO... which was not good.I swore I had a spare in the Jeep but nope... nowhere. Managed to get it kludged on with a few zip ties enough to get off the trail and back home.Immediately purchased TWO - installed one quickly and got the Jeep safely shifting gears... and put the second in a zip-lock bag in the glove box for the next time.If you have a Jeep with auto trans, you better have at least one of these in your Jeep at all times for a quick fix.

Perfect fit on 2006 wrangler, pushed the washer first on the wire linkage then pushed the wire linkage and washer into the nub above and they all snapped in together easily.

This bushing is the one that is used on the 2006 jeep wrangler x shifter lever tip coming off the trans. And connects to the linkage end from the shifter. But the inside diameter is a little to tight. If you force it on you wreck it. The id is .200 and needed to be opened up with a drill smaller than .250. I used .184 jobber bit. Then Chanel locks to get it over the tip. Then the same with the linkage end. And that worked.

Had to dremel the outside down a bit so that it would allow the eye at the end of the cable to slip on, but it worked.

This is not the Shift Cable. This item is only the bushing that goes in the shift cable at the transmission end under the jeep. It is a Mopar part and fit my 2007 Jeep JKU Rubicon. My jeep being a Rubicon and 4wd made it a little challenging to get to the shift cable end due to skid plates and drive shafts, along with my big hands. I had trouble getting the bushing to snap into the cable end and finally had to use pliers. I put the bushing on the post on the shift lever first and then used pliers to snap the cable end onto the bushing. This process took me about 20 minutes. If and when I have to do it again, it will take about a minute.
