I bought this as part of a project truck (1994 f150 2wd). I was replacing power steering pump, gear box, tie rods, ball joints, etc. This part a a shade shorter than original (however, the moog site and all part stores say this is the right one). The old one will go fully onto the gear box shaft. The new one will only go 3/4 of the way onto the shaft and that's it. The torque specs are 170-235 in lb and I set mine with a torque wrench to 225 and it did not budge. I have researched this and it is a common issue (even with chevy) but , all claim that thee has not been a problem with how it functions. As far as how it performs, it does perform the intended task. As far as peace of mind, I am not to sure of it and it makes me nervous to think of what could happen. Shipping was slow but, it was as described (aside from fitment issue).
