The cut down the center causes they bar to squeeze through the opening and nearly hits metal when you tighten it down. It's baffling that they would design it this way. Definitely go with a bushing that has the opening near one of the corners.

Split in the middle is poor design as this area spreads when installed and metal to metal contact occurs creating the clunking noise. Look for one with the offset split.
