When books pushed my bookshelf speakers onto the floor I began looking for floor stands. I needed something low to avoid covering a light switch and I wanted something with a tilt to aim the speakers toward ear level. There are lots of options, many inexplicably expensive. These aren't. Expensive that is. I think they are intended as desktop stands, but they do every thing I needed and some things I only want. They are low, and I do not raise them above the bottom level. The angle back and forth is more than adequate and the top can also be turned left to right allowing the base to remain aligned with the wall while aiming towards the center of the listening zone. Pretty OCD, and I'm not even an audiophile. These are solid, easily adjusted, stay put, and are heavy enough to win battles with the Roomba. I didn't use the cable clip, well, I did use it to locate the foam feet on the bottom of the stand, but that's it. Now for the flaw...nothing's perfect, right? I didn't mind having to assemble, or even needing my own screw driver, but the pad on the top...that uses double sided tape with one side stuck to the rubber pad and the other side has white "peel-off" paper. As if. That double sided tape sticks really, really well to only two things: peel-off paper; and my fingers. I wish the pad had three holes for the screws and was installed at the factory. If I thought it was the right thing to do, I'd dock them half a star for the annoyance, but the annoyance has dissipated (really, it has) and once all is said and done, these stands do exactly what I want.

Awesome stands. Perfect size. Very heavy and sturdy. If you buy these you will want a vice or second set of hands holding one part as you try to blindly screw the platforms and bases to the uprights.

Monoprice usually exceeds my expectations, but not this time. I wanted a desk stand to replace my Gator Frameworks clamp-on stands. The stands look great, but that's where the positive points end. There are some design flaws that make this a no-go for my 19-pound monitors. Monoprice lists their capacity at 33 pounds. I positioned them, tightened each knob as much as I could, put my speakers on them, and watched it tilt forward on its own. The knobs are plastic-on-metal with no bite at all. If they had a plastic collar or washer, it might hold better. If you're tilting them, the only thing that keeps the speakers from falling is friction with a rubber pad. It needs a lip on the platform, but even that won't do any good if they tilt on their own under the weight of the speaker. You can go up and down about 15 degrees. There's no reason you would ever want to tilt them up, since you could just spin the post 180 degrees. Flat should be the limit for this adjustment axis. These might be okay if your speakers are 10 pounds or less, you don't need any angle, and you're going to leave them at the default height of 10.5" plus the rubber pad and foam feet. I'll still buy other Monoprice products, but my speakers are going back on the Gator stands. The low-cost materials aren't the problem here, it's mostly the design. For another dollar's worth of plastic, this could have been a budget win.

This is a gorgeous stand, pretty sturdy, 33 pounds is pretty hefty for this thing to hold, especially with tilt, I wouldn't recommend maxing it out though just In case, but it holds the polk s35 well enough! Just don't tighten the locks too hard or they might strip!

Absolutely abhorrent build quality, even after tightening with multiple wrenches every joint has a ridiculous amount of travel and if you put a larger speaker on here (tested with KRK Rokit RP8 studio monitors) it is definitely going to tilt over as soon as the desk moves. The screw heads basically melted as I tightened the bolts in an attempt to make the setup work; everything about these are cheaply made and very likely to fail. I would absolutely not recommend buying these to hold any gear you care about!
