I hired someone to install a new shower in my bathroom. When he was putting in all the finishing touches, he couldn't find the valve cartridge to go with the Moen M-Pact Posi-Temp Pressure Balancing Valve. We looked all over. It turns out that there is no valve cartridge that came with the valve. UNBELIEVABLE!! WHO DOES THAT??

This worked well for a pex project. I didn’t notice that it didn’t come with a cartridge but Moen was kind enough to send one for free.

Usual shower valve, nothing exceptional. Although I should say that buying Moen parts I used to get a box with Moen logo, instructions and all. This valve came in a single clear plastic bag. No logos, no nothing. I feel unsure if I am tricked or something, no way to tell if it is indeed Moen part and not some noname-who-knows-what. 3 stars so far, will see how it works after being installed.Upd: the valve is installed and works as it should. Easy setup with PEX-B piping and crimp rings. no leaks, no problems. Upgraded to 4 stars, still -1 for not knowing if it is Moen or not since there are absolutely identically looking valves here on Amazon that are not Moen but some spin-offs.

First valve I got was beat up too bad to trust putting in the wall. Second one wasn't perfect but I felt it trustworthy. Almost a year and so far so good. Should ship them better though.

These valves are great, saves soldering pex fittings onto valve and worrying about overheating valve in the process. I've used these in over 10 installs and they've never let me down.

Love the direct PEX connections. Very easy to install. Replaced an old valve that didn't have temp control. What an improvement. And the simple design works great with the trim kit.

The valve itself is perfect - problem is it does not include the 1222 cartridge, which is absolutely necessary. The Q&A states that it does come with a cartridge. This is inaccurate. Also, I called Moen and they don’t send you a new one, you need to go back to Amazon for the dispute.So basically, when you purchase this, realize you ALSO need to purchase a 1222 valve, Moen brand being $40, after-market being about $20.

It's kind of important to know that this valve DOES come with a regular 1222 cartridge. Or at least mine did. So it is a pretty good price for the valve and the cartridge. I assumed it did not have a cartridge, especially because it was not shown in the picture. I ordered a cartridge separately, so now I guess I have an extra one. The valve itself looks like good quality and you don't need to mess with any connections to get it to work with PEX since the connections are already there.
