I put a new transom in my boat and needed new drain holes. I like that you can cut these to the depth you need so there is no guess work in ordering, and it's nice that you don't need any extra specialty tools to install properly.

Used it for my transom drains, worked great. Used a bolt and two large washers to tighten and bedded the flange in 3 m 5200 sealant.

It was a bit hard to press together once is e cut off the excess. I had to use my knife and slightly bevel the edge again. Once i did that, it snapped together much easier.

This works to replace my OEM aluminum splash well drains on the transom of my Skeeter bass boat. However, the plastic is a bit thin and if I had seen these in person I probably wouldn't have purchased. They aren't so bad that they won't do the job though. I will still use them but they definitely are a downgrade.**I see people asking questions as if they want to use this to replace a bilge drain - These are absolutely NOT for that purpose. They should any be used above the water line.

First I bought the seachoice brand on eBay that were more expensive and a different type of plastic. But any kind of prying or tapping them into place they started breaking immediately. This brand is way more durable plastic by far. They went on prefect without a hitch. Lower profile also which is what I wanted.

My old motorwell drain tube cracked after 20 years and the water stop plug would not seal. Went to West Marine and saw a similar replacement for almost 2x the price. Thought I give Amazon a try to see if it was available. Well the World's Biggest Store came through and I ordered it immediately. Follow the installation instructions and got a perfect fit. Looks just like the original plug. Hope I get another 20 years of use out of this one.Installation notes:1. Remove the old drain tube and remove as much of the sealant/caulk as possible.2. Put the male end in the cleaned hole from the inside of the boat.3. Mark the thread (with a permanent marker) where the male piece comes out of the boat on the outside. Remove the male piece and trim to fit (read the instructions for exact amount. I recall 1/8-inch in from the thread mark).4. Fill the cleaned drain hole with silicon caulk. Put caulk on male & female pieces that contact the boat.5. Put in the male piece (from the inside) until seated.6. Push on the female piece (from the outside) until seated (the threads will lock the two pieces together).7. Push from both ends to make sure there is a tight fit. Caulk should be oozing out on both ends to ensure a good seal around the tube sides and end.8. Clean off excess caulk, including caulk that may have gotten inside the tube. You're done. Don't put the male & female pieces together because once engaged, separating will weaken the thread bond.Total job took about 15 minutes.
