I use these for salmon fishing on Lake Michigan. It really helps the kids when battling a big one. Fits nicely on the rod end, very durable, and easy to use. It’s very beneficial to have a few of these on the boat.

I use this on my custom built South African style, low reel mount surf rod. I like the ability to use this instead of a fighting belt but the round part of the foam tends to be soft and squishy where I want more support. I really want this to work but think that either the type of foam being used needs to be more dense or the part where the rod goes into needs to be PVC or aluminum with the foam securely attaching to that so there is less play between the rod and the foam.

I bought this to use on my conventional bass Rod when punching weeds with 65 lb braid. First off the thing could fit on the end of a baseball bat, was too large for the butt end of a bass rod. Also it's just too big overall to be comfortable while casting, pitching, or flipping. I'm sure in Off-Shore applications it'd be perfect, but not for us freshwater Bass guys.
