A staple of the Jazz Saxophone Mouthpiece that is loved by many top musicians. This mouthpiece is loved and adored by top artists around the world regardless of the ancient time, east or west.
This model was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of J.J. Babbit (manufacturer and distributor).
To recreate the popular New York Mayer, we use a unique mold with slightly modified baffles and chambers. It combines excellent control and high expression.
Comes with an exclusive new ligature and cap and a serial number is engraved on the side of the body.
Tip opening size: 0.07 in (1.80 mm)

I bought this item from some YouTube reviews I saw. The mouthpiece looks and feels like it is made from cheap plastic. Also scratches easily. The ligature looks nice, but definitely not good quality and it scratches the mouthpiece. I knew the ligature was not very good from the videos so I purchased a well made ligature separately. The cap is pretty solid, much better than a Selmer cap I have. I haven’t had a chance to play test it yet, but definitely seems like a starter mouthpiece. I definitely expected a better quality mouthpiece from a brand name like Meyer and for it being a 100th anniversary edition, also nothing on the mouthpiece that shows it is a 100th anniversary edition. So far very disappointed in the product and definitely will look somewhere else for a quality mouthpiece.

Mouthpieces are very personal. I've had to go back to a 1.5 reed to get a good sound. I'm sure this will improve as the mouthpiece and I come together.

I do not recommend this mouth piece for purchase at least not at its costLigature broke day one of use, welding is very poor. Upgrading from the Yamaha mouthpiece that came with my son's 62, and Wow! what a difference the Meyer made. It helps him to produce a big sound. Between this mouthpiece and his new sax, he sounds less like a teen student and more like a pro. His teacher even recognized the difference the first time my son played it - without telling the teacher first. The teacher, a pro sax player himself, stopped my son to say, "Did you get a new mouthpiece?"Item packaged well. Fast delivery. I was pleased overall with this transaction.
