These (front)pockets are well made, flocked with a soft velvety coating and fit along the length of the netted pocket. The Amazon posting shows the pockets with the netting in place, but I tried with various tools to insert the tabs of the metal pocket into the frame on the door. It works with the shorter tabs on the sides, but the bottom has a long tab that does not go in with the netting in place. Some posts and videos suggest to cut the netting, but I am not ready to do that. Some reviews have said that it is hard to reach the seat adjustment button, so I would like to try that out before committing to the steel pockets. But it looks like that is not an option. I do not see a way to install these without cutting off the netting - at least on a 2024 4xe ..:(

Removal of netting was easy to allow installation. Kept the band in place with door pocket panels. Sliding the panels into place took an extra panel tool to make a clean install. 35 - 45 minutes to complete both sides.

These are a little too heavy (3+ lbs) for us to want to hang off the door of our Jeep, but we should have expected that given they are steel. It's likely they can handle the weight, though. The covering is velour-ish, which isn't going to last if you use your Jeep as a Jeep. It's nice that you don't have to take your door panel/card off to install, but they do tell you to cut the netting, which is fine if your netting is shot (it doesn't take much, right?!). Instructions are fine, they are a fairly decent copy of DV8's instructions it looks like. If you want to restore door pockets, these will suit fine, the velour coating and the weight are what's keeping us from putting them on our JT.

I installed these on my 2024 Wrangler Willys. I never liked the net pockets which were not very useful. These metal pockets are so much more useful than the webbing. We went with option 2 installation and pulled the webbing and wire out completely which was a simple task. Although the webbing and wire pulled out fine, the unit didn't slip into the channel as easily as the instructions described. But with a little persuasion, we got the unit into the channels and the clips installed. It seems very secure. Overall, these are very nice and much more useful than the web pockets. Very pleased and would recommend.

Installed on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL SportI'm going to start by saying, these are nice, very nice. My netting wasn't in too bad of condition but it was starting to sag and I just didn't like it. These door pockets feel very well made and durable. They have some kind of flocking material on top of the metal and feel good to the touch. They don't interfere with my driving though sometimes my leg will brush up against it but it doesn't bother me. Awhile back I had purchased different front door pockets and have not been happy with them. They felt sharp up against my leg and there were gaps that thin items could slip through, like my bills. These pockets don't have that problem as they fit tightly up against the door. Installation took about 30 minutes because I tried to leave my door netting in place. The netting kept getting stuck under the new pockets and they just wouldn't slip into place. I even tried to persuade them to fit with a rubber mallet but I couldn't get them to fit right. Though I didn't want to I ended up cutting my netting off. If you pull up on the netting and stretch it tight it will cut easily with scissors and the small bit that remains will slip back behind the door panel on it's own. After the netting had been removed they slipped right into place and with the provided brackets they are very secure. My old metal door pockets did not go all the way across the door. These new ones do and it is a much nicer look but it also presents a problem. With the new pockets installed you can only access your seat adjustments with the tips of your fingers. There isn't enough room to get your hand in there. My solution to this problem is to adjust the seat before I close the door. I wasn't thrilled about cutting the netting off but I'm glad I did, it looks way nicer than it did before and I can now fit a water bottle in this pocket. Although it's a little pricey (what isn't on a Jeep) I think they are well worth it and I recommend them.
