Purchased this loft bed to gain extra sleeping space for a granddaughter in our spare bedroom. We were able to slide the head of a full-size bed underneath this bed. There was enough room to add a small nightstand on one side of the bed. It took 2 of us approximately 2.5 hours to put it together. The instructions were pictures only but were pretty easy to follow. The pieces all had stickers with letters on them to match up to the instructions. Luckily, I had Goo-Be-Gone to clean up the sticky residue as we removed the stickers. All of the pieces were nicely finished except for the slats that support the mattress. If we had more time, we would have probably sanded them a little more & possibly sealed or painted them. (I got a sliver in my hand when I put on the mattress pad.) A mattress is NOT included. We purchased a twin 6" gel foam mattress-in-a-box that fit perfectly. Our granddaughter was so excited to have her own bed rather than having to sleep on the couch! We were happy with the grey finish color & how sturdy it is. We put the fitted bottom sheet on the mattress before we hoisted it up into the loft & gave our granddaughter the top sheet & blanket to make the bed. Not sure how easy it will be for me to make the bed. I will need to stand on the bottom bed & not sure if I will be able to reach all corners to tuck in the sheets & blanket. If all else fails, our granddaughter will have to crawl up in the bed & make it herself. Shipping was quick & the bed was well packaged to prevent damage.
