Just used this on a 12-day trek at Philmont Scout Ranch. It was very helpful for locking in UTM coordinates for bushwhacking to locations.

I purchased this UTM grid card for a trip into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in far northern Minnesota. The best maps for this area (IMHO) are the MacKenzie Maps which use a 1:31,680 scale. This grid card does its job transferring UTM coordinates from a handheld GPS to the map and back. I agree with the other reviewer on this page that it is difficult to read when held against the map. It also is so light that mine blew away in a light puff of wind on the first day of our paddle trip. A sturdier material that is less likely to blow away and clearer numbers and hash marks would make this tool much more useful. I would also make the card an inch or so larger for easier handling.

The ruler itself functions just fine, and has thus far not cracked (as others have had issue with). My biggest concern is with the small print. Even with my glasses, it isn't always easy to read. For the price though, it's been okay.
