it is doing the job. after quiet many plugs I made with the bit and a drill press I needed to sharpen the bit then I kept working, no problem.

Based upon the counter sink tool I should have purchased a 3/8" plug cutter, so I returned this.Problem is the plug cutters cut plugs smaller that the stated size. My solution besides returning this and making 3/8" plugs that were smaller than 3/8" was to purchase dowel and cut pieces off to fit the countersunk holes.I would not purchase this again and I don't recommend purchasing it either.

Working well so far. Plugs are the correct size and cutter is still sharp after cutting 50 out or walnut and oak.

It arrived yesterday and I tried it today.It burned through the wood leaving the plug black on the outside and of course could not use the plugs because they leave a black ring.It was to replace my 5 year old 1/2" plug cutter that had been used thousands of times but with so many sharpenings over the years it needed ti be replaced . I used it on the same drill press at the same speed as my previous plug cutter. If anyone knows a source for a better quality one please post a link to it. Of course things like this cannot be returned after a person cuts open the blister pack and tries it out only to find it is a dud. I wasted my time and money on this one . I had to post one star because it wouldn't let me post zero .
