I bought this Cold smoker [Big Kahuna] 9 years ago, It is truly next level, Thought process, Engineering and quality is next level. Heavy duty quality. We have smoked everything from Ribs to Chocolate chip cookies , to birthday cakes, from cheese, salmon to beef jerky to dragging to the beach and smoking crab right from the ocean ….smoked crab cakes are next level…. Easy to install, well built, and great smoke volume. I would upgrade to the max PIG model if I could do it over again. The chips I tried burn really fast. I'm getting about 30 minutes just as is with the air pump set to a medium. I'll have to play with my setup a little. This is definitely an upgrade, I'll do a video when I use it again.I know I'm being a little bit of a perfectionist here. I'm using an Ironwood 885 and I put it in opposite of the fan (which it does say to avoid). But I'm planning on installing a section of brass pipe so it exhausts next to the pot. I might be dealing with some air siphoning through the drip chute, causing excessive burn. I'd also like to baffle the rear exhaust on it as the Traeger's airflow is a little too good sometimes.

Would give this product 10 stars if I could. I’ve smoked meats for years with a “real” custom built refrigerator smoker built in Texas. My wife bought me a Traeger as a gift. I used it twice and was so thoroughly disgusted with the lack of smoke volume and flavor, I put it away in my garage and haven’t used it for 3 years - until today. I happened to stumble across the Smoke Daddy on Amazon. Did my research and it seemed to make sense and may give my Traeger a shot at actually being more than just a convenience grill. I installed it today and smoked a couple of whole chickens. The chickens came out perfectly. With the Smoke Daddy, I had continuous smoke - real smoke and flavor, not that pellet smoke where you think the meat may be smoked but you’re not sure. The Smoke Daddy is a total game changer. With it I get the convenience of thermostatically controlled temp and GREAT smoke flavor. I highly recommend.

Okay I was on the fence when I purchased this, I even tried to return it last second before it was shipped… I am so glad I didn’t do that!! This thing is awesome!! I was lacking the smoke flavor on my Traeger pro 34 and I thought this might fix that, and it did! I now have the same smoke flavor I was getting out of my offset stick burner!The Traeger runs smoothly with this installed no noticeable temp fluctuations from this. There is a bit of a learning curve with this. I think it’s much better to use lump charcoal first get that all burning nice and hot then add wood chunks chips and pellets if you want. It will make a nice steady blue smoke. It seems to burn longer than 2.1/2 hours as advertised. I’m getting more like 4 hours.Small issues. The knobs get piping hot and will burn you!! I ordered a new bigger heat resistant knob and that seems to work without burning me. Also there are holes on the bottom cover for ventilation which understandable for airflow. So if your on a wood deck you will need to add a bucket like I did in the pics to avoid hot coals falling on your wood deck. I just ordered another Traeger bucket and modified it. Also if you want to keep your Magnum Pig away from your smoker controller to avoid damaging it I suggest you buy/order a street 3/4 NPT 90/elbow. Also the 3/4 NPT nuts that come with it are electrical conduit nuts and don’t tighten much before stripping . So order beefier 3/4 NPT nuts to attach to your smoker. Don’t hesitate this thing is worth every penny!! Hope this helps!!

This is just what I needed to add to my gas grill. Note: If you read and follow "ALL" the information on the proper way to load the wood into the unit, you will not have any issues with the "Smoke Daddy Magnum P.I.G. Hot or Cold Smoke Generator."( I started by adding 1/3 lump hard wood charcoal to the bottom then I added my slected type of hardwood chips. Turned on the air pump then Lit the charcoal with a torch.) It worked like a champ for me. ENJOY the Smoke!!!

Install in our Traeger, when using smoke daddy only BBQ cooking stays cold. When using Traeger at higher temperatures, smoke daddy adds additional smoke flavour.

Great product, very well made. I'm happy how it works.Burning time with pellets is around 45minutes but could be easily added more during process.Air pump is for US socket 110V so is useless in UK what should e marked by seller I guess. That's the reason why I can't put 5 stars.

We do a lot of cold smoking and have tried several smokers, all of them had the same problem the chips/pallets would compound and the fire would go out, thus the smoke stops, it was a nightmare. Smoke Daddy smokes for hours and hours without any problem, absolutely love it.

Finally, I can get great smoke in my Weber Genesis gas grill. The grill is great, but every way I tried before to get decent smoke failed. The Big Kahuna solved that problem. Now I can get an hour or so of smoke from chips and chunks while cooking meats or I can leave the burners all off and cold smoke using just the Big Kahuna. In other words, it makes the smoke independent from the grill burners. You can use either heat or smoke or both.This opens up a whole new set of possibilities. Now I can even slow-cook ribs for hours and get lots of smoke flavor. Previously, to get smoke it required at least one of the burners to be on strongly and that is too much heat for something like ribs. Problem solved!The air pump works well as a boost to getting the smoke started and to control the burn inside the Big Kahuna.You can add more wood while smoking but you may want a pliers to take off the top as the knob on the top can get too hot to handle.Keep the knob that locks the bottom in place tight or the bottom and sparks could fall to the ground. I would not use this device over flammable surfaces without some protection and continual monitoring. Eventually I will fasten a metal drip pan close under the smoker to catch anything that falls and that should make it safer.This installed very easily in the Genesis by drilling a 1 1/8" hole in the aluminum back of the grill between two of the flavor bars near the center. It is at a very slight angle, but that is no problem.
