I used these as a sneaky way to mount an ABS project box to the 5/16" solid aluminum rodsthat my bicycle's rear rack was constructed with. Worked perfect. I realize this is not the intendeduse by design, but I can't think of a better way to attach a flat surface to "dowel rods"

I was a little surprised when I opened the package; The clamps seemed a bit small for 5/16" cable. however, they did fit up well, and did not break when I cinched the nuts down. They do appear to be a lot more light-weight than I am used to working with. I'll just have to see if they hold up under load.

These wire clamps are of very low quality. Tightening the nuts to the required torque is a problem. The first one I tried, the nut would not tighten at all - just spun on the threads! The threads were not stripped - just extremely loose fitting. Even if you managed to somewhat tighten the nut, it would be subject to failure. I tried several more with the same results. These clamps are especially dangerous to use on a cable that could hurt someone if it came loose. I would not recommend anyone buying these. In-fact, they should be removed from Amazon as they are a potential liability.

I have a few conopy around my yard and these are used to make ext. Some places aren't quite long enough so you make adjustments and these work great
