Set it into position, and it stays there. Better than more expensive stands. Only issue, no memory locks so you need to mark your favorite heights with some other means. Still, it's a good stand and not too heavy. Recommended.

I have a cheaper Ludwig snare stand that is more stable than this one. This one is very adjustable and feels like it is well made, but it just doesn't feel solid on the floor.

The ball joint basket adjustment is easy to use and puts the snare at any custom angle you desire. I have the DW 5000 stand too. This Ludwig stand is better designed and easier to use.
